“It's a lot worse when you realize satine exiled the diverse population...”
can i just say that i dont believe any implication that satine was the one who exiled the diverse population? like it doesnt fit her or her characterization at all in my opinion and doesnt seem like a thing she would have done. i could go on. i have extensive opinions on what filoni did to mandalore and how he essentially set satine up for failure from the moment he put her in the show. but i really shouldnt. it would turn into a rant.
Oh, definitely. I feel it’s incredibly unfair that it feels like Satine was almost set up to fail and fall into Obi wan’s arms for his man pain.
Still, I think there can be a reasoning for the decision of exile -- for the clans who go to Concordia, anyway -- being that Satine was very young at the time when she comes into rule. I have no doubt that she probably had to have advisers or counselors on the matter and that may or may not have heavily influenced her decision.
She probably considered the violence of Mandalore’s past combined with what she personally experienced during the civil war while being on the run -- which would be the beginnings of her pacifist ideals. So, in that moment, when being forced with a decision, she likely was convinced that exile was a more favorable option.
More so than a public execution or imprisonment, perhaps? I don’t know, I’m just throwing things out there to try and reason with the very little they’ve given us.
