Van Morrison - Astral Weeks There's nothing particularly interesting about this pressing of Astral Weeks (standard EU reissue) but I figured while in Ireland I might as well get a (Northern) Irish album. I love this album because it's not quite folk, not quite jazz, not quite spoken-word, not quite anything but itself. The stream-of-consciousness style of this album is it's own thing and really feels like the channelling of a summers day on the road. The first day I was in Ireland my girlfriends uncle put this on in a bit of a tongue in cheek way but it turned out to perfectly soundtrack our drive into the mountains outside Dublin. I managed to bang up the sleeve the day after I bought it on the bus but now it's got a bit of character.
