Every true fan knows that Izzy Stradlin’s heart wasn’t just in his music, but also with his loyal companion, Tread (aka Ju Ju Dog). 

This iconic photograph is a piece of rock history, taken from the liner notes of his 1998 solo album, 117°. Tread was so much more than just a pet; he was a constant presence, even traveling with the band on world tours.

The bond was so deep that Izzy’s first solo project, Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds, was named after the affectionate nickname he gave his dogs. 🐾 The second photo shows Izzy in his element—boots on the ground at his barn in Indiana, surrounded by his dogs and far away from the Hollywood spotlight. It’s the perfect portrait of a man who traded the chaos of stardom for the quiet loyalty of his best friends.
