THE SHIP HAD COME THROUGH THE WORMHOLE IN BAD SHAPE. the damage wasn’t consistent with typical domnion weapons, however, and the ship ---- though clearly starfleet in markings and identification ---- wasn’t familiar. it was at benjamin’s request that the defiant approached, with dax in command. short term communications appeared to be intact according to latest scans, so upon reaching minimum distance, she requests an open channel. ❛ this is commander dax, of the uss defiant. we noticed you appeared to be in distress, do you read? ❜ // @astrcnautical

...So You Run on Gasoline
Peter could see the smoke miles away, it was the thick, black kind that usually indicated some kind of explosion, and a big one too. Already sirens were starting up in the distance but it would be a few minutes before they reached the building and a lot of people could be dead in that time. Peter however, Peter could reach the building in seconds. In one fluid moment he had pushed himself off the rooftop he’d been perched on and into the air, quickly making his way towards the fire.
It looked even worse up close, the air was so thick that even standing outside the building was making it hard to breathe and that wasn’t even factoring in the heat. But there were people who needed saving, who needed Spiderman. And so there Spiderman would be. There was an open window a few stories up, a frightened looking girl was deliberating whether to jump or not. That’s where he would start. With a flashy summersault and a quip he could barely hear himself make over the roar of the flames Peter had the girl out of the building safe and sound.
The police arrived on scene a few minutes later, and in that time “Spiderman” had rescued a dozen people who would’ve died of smoke inhalation long before the firefighters could’ve gotten to them. But, even so four people had died before either party could reach them and those deaths would weigh heavily on Peter’s mind in the months to come, they always did. He was doing one last sweep of the area when he found the boy, he was sat against a throughly charred and structurally unsound pillar, his clothing charred and burnt in places. He was staring at his hands, where flames still licked at his fingertips. So he started this.
Suddenly Peter felt a surge of anger, he caused this. This boy, HE killed these people and he was just sitting there, not caring. He scowled behind his mask. “Y’know” He folded his arms tightly across his chest. “call me crazy but I think you should consider calling management if you have a problem with your neighbors. Blowing them up is a little extreme.”
