ooh boy you would be protective af! like i feel so sorry for anyone who messes with ur kids tbh! You’d be good at staying calm with argumentative kids but you might find yourself having loooong ass arguments with ur kids when they’re teenagers!! You can tell when your kid is lying instantly like before they even say anything you can tell and they know you can smell their bullshit because of That Look. You’d be full of adventures! Your kids are always gonna be having new experiences and they’re going to remember you as the one who always pushed them to be their best selves!

You make home a sanctuary. It’s your safe space and you make it your kids safe space too. After a hard day at school they will shut that front door and breathe a huge sigh of relief at being back home. You’re good at discussing emotions and provide an amazing confidante, especially when they’re learning to navigate social circles. You provide structure and you’re the best at reassurance. Remember to be patient with your teens when they’re having lie ins and leaving dirty cups in their rooms! You’ll be remembered as the one who always had the answer to their problems.

Honestly you’re just a good all-rounder! You’re caring, compassionate and grounded. You’re a shoulder to cry on, you love them with a passion and you work hard to provide your kids with a good life. You’re amazing as sorting out sibling fights. The ultimate impartial referee, sometimes the kids hate that because they want you to be on their side but ultimately you keep the peace. You’re super chilled out and you handle everything calmly. You know how to have fun and you’re the kind of parent who can get everyone getting along doing something as a family after they’ve had a massive argument. Remember to not always focus on the bigger picture of the family dynamics and support individual kids rather than just managing their relationships to each other. If you do this then they’ll remember you as the glue who held their family together.

So. Many. Dad. Jokes. And like super weird ones sometimes too. Like your kids alternate between “really? again?!?!” and “dad wtf???” And you love to talk to your kids too... you’ll chat away to your kids before they can even talk and when they’re older you’ll have the most random conversations with them. Like you’ll sit around the dinner table for hours talking about science, history, conspiracy theories, etc, etc like it’s hard to predict because it’s just gonna come out of nowhere... one minute you’ll be talking about what they did at school and the next you’ll be two hours into a conversation about UFO sightings. That being said your love for your kids is so soft and caring. Nothing pains you more than seeing your kid crying and you’re the one your kids come to for a hug when they’re feeling down. You’re also super patient and don’t lose your temper much. However you really need to remember to take time for yourself. You need it emotionally and you can explode if you take too much crap. And kids shovel crap at you tbh. So take that time every now and then to chill out and try and not bottle all your frustration all the time. Your kids will remember you as the one who taught them to say what they think and to be true to themselves.

To others you might come across with a hard shell, most of the moms at your kids school want to know you but you only have a few, very close friends and keep your distance from everyone else. With your kids though you’re like a whole other person. You’re gentle and caring and slightly eccentric, but not so much that it affects your kids negatively. You nurture them but not in the typical sense: you encourage interests and passion. You’re the type to silently provide snacks and juice/coffee (depends on age) while they’re engrossed in a project for school or practising a craft (art, writing, instrument, etc). You nurture their individuality and you can be fierce in defending them from other people’s “concerns”. You don’t buckle to peer pressure so other peoples “suggestions” are usually met with a Look before you go ahead and do what you were going to do anyway. Your kids will remember you as the one who taught them to forge their own path and screw what anyone else thinks.
