Head cannons about a smug Journalist!Mikan

Soooo I know you said that they’re just general headcanons, but I still kind of ended up including the reader. Not as an s/o, though! Oh well, hope you like them anyway. I actually had a lot of fun with this! 

Smug Journalist! Mikan Headcanons

Gone is her shy & quiet demeanor–she’s the definition of brutal when confronting and interviewing her subjects in question and never fails to make a derisive and decisive statement in the article, even if none of the words are really hers.

When she gets in the mode, she goes in hard. She throws out questions like she gives out shots–more than you expected, would ever want, or realistically be needed by either party.

It’s like a switch is flipped when she’s on the clock, from pushover to pushy.

Even if you ask not for your voice to be recorded, she’s constantly got a recording device on her somewhere so she can reference the material later for quoting you, sometimes multiple. It might be disguised as a clip in her hair or a pin on the collar of her dress shirt, though.

Oh, and did I mention? She’s her own boss. No one orders Mikan Tsumiki, repeat recipient of the Pulitzer Prize, to do anything or take any stories. She’s currently kind of the boss of the journalism world.

Don’t. Be. Fooled. By. Her. Shy & soft-spoken ways before she interviews you–and trust me, she’ll interview you before long, as she does with all the people that have the misfortune to encounter her.

You’ll know if she’s looking down on you. In fact, there’s a low chance she’s not looking down on you, and that’s because she easily sheds light on all your dirty deeds and misdoings, even the petty ones. What can she say? She’s just too good at her job.

She talks in a condescending manner when she chats with you after having interviewed you and researched your entire life from your first step as a toddler to when you last trimmed your nails. There’s no need to really talk to you now that she’s got all the information she needs for an article or satiated her curiosity, but she’ll play along with you if you want to play get to know you or small talk–though you’ll feel like she’s patronizing you, which she probably is.

There are few people in this world that she respects, and they are never the people she has interviewed before–they’re mostly top-name journalists that have outed political schemes and the immoral character of significant figures or leaders in the world, people she aspires to be like.

If you somehow manage the astounding feat of earning her respect, she will worship you the way a fan would take the used tissues of their idol from the trash can. She also doesn’t interview or question you once you have her respect, because she has unconditional faith in you. She’ll do anything for you, and by that, I mean a n y t h i n g. To have Mikan’s faith is to have an immeasurable amount of power and privilege–you very literally have control over mass media.

She’s always rushing somewhere or other…but in journalist mode, she doesn’t really trip or fall down because she simply hasn’t got the time to be fooling around like that. She’s constantly looking to advance her career, so the scent of a story sets her off like blood to a trained hound. Her clumsiness only emerges when she’s had cups and cups of black coffee and hasn’t slept for at least two days.

Not a fun gal to be around, either. She’ll air your dirty laundry in front of polite company without question, especially if you’re irritating her in any manner, even if it’s just your presence. She’s blocked many an aspiring young professional from moving up in the world, intentionally or not.

I watched your recent video, love it by the way, and I have a question (which might be easy to explain) what if one of the troll calls (namely the oliveblood detective) has the same aspect as their cast aspect but a different moon, how would the aspect be represented then cause from what said aspects go from their original life being the blood aspect and then rising Into their real aspect but what if they are one in the same

Dunno! Presumably, like the true sign trolls themselves, those players would have a leg up since society itself isn’t pulling them away from their true Aspects. But maybe the difference in dreaming moon counts for more than I think, and they’ll have stress on them that way?Impossible for me to say right now, but the question sure is interesting. Hope we get such a troll in Hiveswap eventually!
