Beyblade Metal Friday: Beyblade Metal Fight from an Astrological perspective: The Zodiac signs! Part 9: Saggitarius (or Saggitario) and Kenta Yumiya!!!
Hello my Beyblade Metal fighters and astrology and star-lovers! I am Star-Arcana and my goal is to make an analysis on the Bladers from Beyblade based on how accurate their personality and Bey is to their zodiac sign!
This time, we will deal with the 9th sign of the Zodiac, finally! We deal with the big adventurer of the zodiac wheel, the Half-Horse, Half Human Saggitarius, the Centaur!
This sign it at the end of Autumm, which we already left (irl), but not enough to not conclude this season with perhaps one of the most meaningful signs of this analysis. And none other than one Blader will play with his Bey a pivotal role in this part than KENTA YUMIYA AND SAGGITARIO!!!
Now let's talk about Saggitarius!
Saggitarius The Mutuable Fire Sign
Saggitarius is a mutuable sign at the end of Autumm, and will bring about some change and move to new directions befitting such a type of sign.
As a Fire sign that is Mutuable, Saggitarius adds a fiery and lively type of change based on sponatanous ideas, colorful imagination with a lot of passion for these subjects and bringing and applying their energies with a whole heart behind it (important for later)!
Saggitarius as sign is very open-minded, adventerous and loves ideas that are exciting and meaningful, i.e, thoughtful stuff, like what a certian character in this analysis is going to preach!
Back to the topic, Saggitarius really is the adventerous type, due to loving to travel to distance and new places and meeting all sorts of new people. They will always be ready for new adventures and always want to learn something new from it!
Saggitarius as sign really does love knowledge, hence why they want to freely explore and venture to the world (or worlds) as much as they can in life. They really want to experience as much in life as they can, and that is also a reason as to why Saggitarius people love walking, or maybe do sports a lot, in which they can excel at it, due to their passionate spirit.
Back to being adventerous, this extends also to the word of ideas and philosophy, which keenly interests the open-minded Saggitarius, with their restless, adventerious mind, also loving the adventure of undertaking new studies or just simply reading, or reproducing them.
They are also idealistic; Ideals drive Saggitarius. This sign is driven by the endless possibility of new and exciting stuff awaiting them. The undiscovered, unexplored, and the unobtainable intrigues them and get envigorated by the search of it, even chasing the lover that got away, like a hunter with a bow searching for the golden rabbit!
They love to learn really, but also love having fun and a good time, they are also fun to be around and always ready to see new things.
Adventure after all!
What really is important and interesting for Saggitarius is the excitement of their vision and the fascination of their journey. It's the adventure that matters, not the goal.
For Saggitarius people, their life is like an adventure, a quest, in which the real sport is living to make the adventure as interestin,varied, and informative as possible. Arriving at the destination isn't the point, adenture.
And for said adventure, they can play about any role that will get them to the next level of this game, even if they do not have to play the exhaulted, dignified majesty that is being the protagonists. The Show can have them be anything, for as long as they get a part in it moving this part of the story, to the next one.
Saggitarius just love to play and wander aimlessly.
Saggitarus never sits stiil. By that, I mean that they hate Boredom, it's their sworn enemy. For Saggitarius to fulfil their desire for adventure, they need a lot of freedom and if they cannot have that, they will be unfulfilled and unhappy when tied down to routine.
Doing the same thing even twice is enough for them. They will try to do something new about it and it really isn't good for them to miss out on something due to this.
Getting stuck is even one of their worst fears, Saggitarius fears being stuck in the present, if it gets too much, as, again, missing out something really isn't fun, or even good for them.
Their run on ideals, but aren't interested in the practicality of said ideas and thus could just chase them, without fulfilling them, even if necessary at times.
The worst aspects of Saggitarius's desire to adventure, to go on their jounreys and chosen paths, other than being bored when not going to adventure, is that they can be dense and clueless wherever their path takes them. They dont care as much about the objective as the way interests them. So they simply walk with intuitive vision to some distant goal, but can miss it and end up being directionless or even in danger.
Discipline is not this sign's strong suit, and won't even put all the effort to get there.
And if they get their goal, it might take not long for their next call to take them somewhere new. As even winning the prize money of a tournament can end up in Saggitarius's hands being spend all away the second of just getting the prize.
Adventure after all!
Like the constellation this sign is based on, Saggitarius are mythical creatures. Half-Horse and Half-Human, they, with their mythical arrow always shoot their target at somewhere distant away, and chase that down. On their way, all the exciting and new things might thrill them, but they can lose sight of their arrow, and might never find it again.
Aiming with intuition and at some future, goal, they shoot and chase that arrow far away. Sagggitarius would ask wherever they striked their target or if they cand it back, but what really matters to them, is the way forward. They want than constantly chasing their target, to learn constantly new and exciting things, people to met, and new concept to learn from, philosphical or idealogical.
As they grow older, they wanna travel more and more. And they should, as Saggitarius people need a lively and inquiring mind to always ask open-minded questions about everything and most of them all, be optimistic and always believe in themselves, more each time when they endure crises and overcome them, with their greatest ability is to wish for a lucky star to come and shine upon them, landing where they stand and pray and make them believe in that they dreams come true.
But for Saggitarius, at the end, it's the adventure, the journey, the road and the path taken that matters, not the destination, destiny, goal or accomplishments.
What they do in their lives mather, not what they tried to achieve.
Saggitarius lives and battles for today, and seizes all tomorrows!
Jupiter in Astrology, like in mythology, is a very important and a very powerful sign, for it represents the theme of growth, mostly spiritually.
This planet deals with the meaning and purpose of an individuals life in Astrology, and also represents optimism, hope and sense for justice. Basically ideals and truths spiritually and mentally.
Another aspect of Jupiter is having faith in yourself, or in something, or in others. Your philosophy in life and the strife and drive for your spiritual growth and expanding beyond your potential.
Basically what you believe in, either as philosophy, ideal, a person, and in your spirit.
And saggitarius is that, it wants to expand, it wants to reach beyond and does that with a lot of spontanous passion and love for new and exciting things to learn from, philosophically and spiritually.
Saggitarius is through Jupiter made to want this, perhaps destined even to. As Jupiter's theme is growth, Saggitarius main theme is thus the same, Growth.
How much does Kenta fit into all of this?
Do I even need to explain this? Kenta with his Bey Saggitario, fits with the themes of Saggitarius like a glove, or a energy ring on a Bey!
Kenta does pretty much represents the core aspects of Saggitarius: Adventerous, open-minded, idealistic and thoughtful, to the point of being at times philosophical, like his idol.
Kenta also loves to have fun, meet new people and things, and has big dreams of success, and loves chasing new goals each time, with a lot of passion and with spontaneous ideas each time, on top of being optimistic and hopeful in his goals.
However it is true that he once started lacking in confidence and even power, which hindered his potential and that he often can be easily made sad and discouraged to go where he wants to (even in later seasons). Once Kenta's home was dominated by the bullies called the Face Hunters, a group of "Beybladers" once led by Kyoya, who has his goons chase powerful bladers to steal their Beypoints (something like a currency to show how powerful a Blader is).
Kenta was about to lose his Beypoints to Benkei and was crying and breaking nearly down, but Gingka had one of his best entries ever and defeated Benkei, saving Kenta and Saggitarius from the bullies, with a sense of justice and badassary that would continue from this point on with Gingka Hagane. Afterwards, both Kenta and Gingka became friends.
Through Gingka, who went in a Saggitarius-esque adventure of his own trying to get to defeat Ryuga, was already experienced as a Blader traveling the land. He always saw new things, exciting things and people, from which he learned from and with many new and exciting battles, grew stronger for his mission that he would one day complete.
Kenta admires Gingka, not just for his sense of justice, but also for his skills with Beyblade, but he has doubts about how he can become more powerful and thinks it's his attack power and Stamina that is lacking. But Gingka gives like a Saggitarius a thoughtful message about Beyblade, which represents not just the ideals of this series, but also core philosophy, something Saggitarius loves extremely. A mesage that teaches the truth, meaning and purpose of Beyblade, and this is from the first episode of Metal Fight (Metal Fusion):
"A Beyblade's true power has nothing to do with attack power or stamina. It attacks using the feeling of the Blader who's connected with it. As if all the power in the universe was being poured into it...You have to have a big heart! As big as the starry skies above!"
- Gingka Hagane, the 1# Blader of the world in the making, explaining to Kenta the essence of Beyblade!
This philosophical tibit and later on Gingka preaching about how Beyblade isn't about crushing the other, but about forging bonds with your friends through Battling gives Kenta a symbol of justice, hope, growth and optimism that inspires him to great heights and makes him more adventerous, like a little Centaur seeing the elder one teaching him about archery and traveling.
Kenta would go on becoming a more powerful Blader gradually and despite setbacks and in some cases even points of feeling despair, the inspiration that Gingka gave him drove him to growth and expanding not just his horizon, but also his spirit. He would over time be less broken about defeat, thanks to his Kindness towards Yu, which made him encourage to see his defeat at the hands of Reji look from a diffrent light: All the people in the stadium cheer for Kenta, and despite losing, he managed to get into Battle Bladers, before that amongst the top 10 in the Survival match that he still lost. And from there, got enough point to go into battle bladers and qualify for the quarter finals of that tournament. He continued to grow and at the end, thanks to Gingka's enlightenment, Kenta and the others figured out that to defeat L-Drago, they have to try to save Ryuga from it, who is part of their Blader family and a victim of L-Drago's Dark Power. Kenta would understand that simply beating L-Drago isn't a victory against the Dark Power, if they had to simply sacrefice one of their own like that and through that, Ryuga was saved and with Gingka's sense of justice and his own growth, also thanks to Kenta and the others aiding him, the world was saved and Ryuga gets a second chance to prove himself and he did.
Before that, Kenta would get some smaller scenes at the start of Masters. He was the first to be open-minded enough to befriend and bond with Masamune, and learned of Masamune's efforts to get stronger to beat Gingka, and showed enthuasim and optimism. Masamune would do that, but Gingka would quickly begin to master Pegasis a bit more, and thus put Masamune in secound place for now, and already surpass him.
Kenta would like almost all Japanese bladers, plus Masamune (who is Japanese-American) qualifiy for the the World Championship to represent Japan, and come very far, but not enough to partake into the tournament, and would have barely any big role in there.
But in Fury, and with Ryuga, he got a bigger one. Just as adventerous as ever, Kenta wants to partake in the quest to stop Nemesis, but due to his lacking power, he couldn't do it as well as he wanted to, and wanted to find a diffrent way to do so. Being of little help is pretty boring actually, so him changing the formula, is very Saggitarius-like of Kenta.
Being open-minded and aiming high for his goals, he wants to find Ryuga and convince him to join the other Legendary Bladers to stop Nemesis, a tall order that would prove to be almost impossible. But Saggitarius always dreams big, and even though it was something that caused him much pain and loss, he would continue to try to convince Ryuga and take on his training, with all the discipline and grueling brutality it takes to becomes powerful enough to match Ryuga.
Ryuga accepted Kenta's company under the condition that if he manages to make Ryuga take him serious, the Dragon emperor would join the others and lend his power
He would be however at one point disscouraged, but Gingka, being like an elder Saggitarius and wise Jupiter at once, gives Kenta encouragement and faith in himself to try to master the new special move that Kenta created during his training: Diving Claw. Gingka explains, that this move is strong enough to make him, and even Ryuga take Kenta seriously, if he tries to master it.
With encouragment and optmism based on this information, Kenta would scar L-Drago and force Ryuga to take him serious with his special move, forcing Ryuga to use his own special move. But Kenta lost, though Ryuga lost the conditions of the promise and has to help Gingka.
But Ryuga's ego was stronger than his honor, and in a foolish attempt to take Nemesis's power, Ryuga lost his own Star Fragment to the Dark God, and Nemesis is reborn.
Ever since this, Kenta believes he has failed his mission, and this guilt would worsen when he saw later Ryuga defeated. Nemesis would prove even for the combined power of the other Legendary Bladers too much and were about to give up, but Kenta refused to do so. He remembers his adventures, his journey, and his road and path taken to become a great Blader, and refuses to give up. No matter how brutal the fight and how futile, Kenta refuses to give up his future and his friends and family, and wanting to make right for having "failed" his quest, he begins to fight with full power, only to lose and being about to be crushed by Rago and Nemesis. But Ryuga interferes and explains to Kenta, that he was serious in their last fight and wants to uphold his promise by giving Kenta his Star Fragment, and then with L-Drago, Ryuga "dies" (to be fair, the anime was unclear on this).
Kenta's Bey, Flame Saggitario (they got even the element fire right, yes, Saggitarius is a fire sign, and uses a flame arrow that would even burn brigher in it's evolved form) , evolves into Flash Saggitario, a much stronger Bey. With Kenta, the Legendary Blader are complete now and Kenta can perform with Gingka, Kyoya and Chris together the Barrier of Zeus to seal Nemesis. But Pluto interferes and gives Kenta a hard time, until Kenta remembers his last battle with Ryuga and performs an evolved version of his Special move to defeat the spawn of Hades. This Special move shocked Gingka and Pluto, it's called Diving Arrow!
Fittingly Pluto is defeated and thus the Barrier can be built, but before that, I wanna go into detail as to why this little battle was brilliant, as well as Kenta becoming a Legendary Blader:
Jupiter/Zeus as Kenta's spiritual mentor!
Note: I use Zeus and Jupiter interexchangably, and not the Bey Jade Jupiter, who will be more relevant in the future. let's say for now, that Jupiter = Zeus!
Remember that Kenta's Bey, Saggitario is based on Saggitarius and, remember the Planetary Ruler of Saggitarius? It's none other than Jupiter, the Planet of Growth and Jupiter was known in Greece as Zeus, who is in Beyblade the opposing force of Hades and Nemesis, and the one who gifted the future 4 Legendary Bladers the power to seal Nemesis away with a Barrier named after Zeus himself.
As Kenta was given this power by Ryuga, Kenta could become a Legendary Blader, one that bears the mark of Jupiter's servant: Saggitarius.
So in a way, Kenta was always destined to become a Legendary Blader. His sign being in service to Jupiter meant that he was always a candidate to gain his power, for as long as he would follow the will of Jupiter, and the will of Jupiter is Growth! Spiritual Growth, and striving for it, like Gingka did.
Also important to Jupiter is a sense of justice, optimism, hope, finding meaning and purpose in your life, finding your ideals and philosophy, expanding your mind and spirit, and having faith in yourself. These are the themes of Jupiter, and Kenta followed it.
By following Gingka, who also followed Jupiter's will via Pegasis (also serving Zeus), Kenta was always destined to become more powerful and ultimately a Legendary Blader. Yes Kenta often was defeated, he fell and stumbled, but as long as he gained hope, faith and optimism to continue and press on, Growth was inivetable for Kenta, until he becomes so strong, that he earned the respect of one of the most powerful Bladers and thus took on his power.
And thus, as a servant of Jupiter, he would crush in battle Pluto, the descendant of Hades, and thus help fulfil Zeus's. A Servant of Zeus, striking down the heir to Hades's Legacy.
Quite poetic and meaningful as thought, befitting Saggitarius, but now I have to come back to the present and finish this part!
What does now the end mean for Kenta as Saggitarius!
A lot actually and I come to it. So Kenta defeated Pluto and with this, the 4 legendary bladers able to seal Nemesis away with Zeus's barrier can fulfil their mission:
Kenta would help Gingka, Kyoya and Chris to complete Zeus Barrier and seal Nemesis, but a broken piece of Pluto's Bey (Fusion Hades in jap. Firefuse Darkhelm in localization) fell into the Barrier before completion, and thus created a crack in the barrier. From this crack Nemesis, soon after he was sealed, broke out of the seal and now threatens the world in it's now true, terrible form as God of Destruction. The tired Legendary Bladers all fell one by one, even Kenta, until Gingka was left and given not just the power of all Legendary Bladers, but all Bladers throughout the Beyblade World and with that power, Gingka could crush Nemesis for good and become Blader #1, even surpassing Ryuga.
Kenta would with this be put behind Gingka in terms of ranking, and also behind Kyoya, who was on a quest to beat all Legendary Bladers before taking on Gingka, and losing to him as well. And many aren't sure if Ryuga was still stronger than Kenta, but I think I made it clear. Kenta never became the strongest Blader, even after gaining Ryuga's power, and as kid, this kind of bumbed me, but after learning of what Saggitarious represents, I have come to a diffrent conclusion:
Kenta's story was never about becoming the strongest Blader ever, it was about his adventure to get to there, not the goal. He wasn't meant to be strong, just capable to go as far as he did to get there, very close, but not quite there. Like Saggitarious, he aimed but and hit the target, but couldn't chase it all down, and thus he didn't succced, but to Saggitarius, and to Kenta, it really doesn't matter.
What really mattered was the way forward and not the end. This is Saggitarius's major themes and Kenta represents it beautifully. He showed us that you can chase something, and fail, and afterwards continue and even if you don't manage to get in there, you can on your way face new people, see new things, have adventures, learn new things and use your mind and heart to achieve spiritual heights like never before. Kenta proves ultimately that he was more skilled than anyone thought, including Gingka and Ryuga, with the latter giving him the faith to try and the latter the discipline to get far.
Ultimately, I have made my case for him being perfect as Saggitarius quite clear: He is adventerous and open-minded, and wants and did learn new things, even passed on some of it to Sora, who became better as Blader. And his search for growth was in line with his sign and Planetary Ruler, to the point he defeated said ruler's opponent, and thus the forces that once burdered Kenta. Kenta would also prove as blader very intuitive and come up with spontanous ideas. He would gain faith in himself, even against impossible odds, based on what he learned and experienced, and even admitted to Gingka that without him, he never would have gotten there. Thanks to Gingka, Kenta aimed higher and put more faith and heart in his battles, and would do this to even go to the almost impossible task to convince Ryuga to join his cause. He was met with failure in many ways, didn't quite reach the target, barely touching it, but Kenta's way to try to get there, is what was important to him. Had Kenta won and ultimately saved the day, it would miss the point of his journey, and thus hurt his characterization, if Gingka couldn't win it as protagonist. Thanks to this search for the meaning of Saggitarius, I no longer feel dissapointment for Kenta's arc, but pride, knowing that he did all things right by the book and the role he was given and the one he choose to make!
This is why ultimately it's not important to ask why Kenta didn't win and became Blader #1, as I made the answer obvious, but what his whole arc, and his whole story meant:
Kenta's adventure and experienced mattered, and the future ones he wants with his friends, not his goals and ambitions, just the adventure, the journey, the road and path taken that matters, not destiny, destination, goals and plans.
All that matters about Kenta, is the Adventure, like a Saggitarius!

How would I change Kenta?
Nothing, he represents Saggitarius perfectly, and Fire is the first Element they got right here for him, as well as Mutuable signs being adaptive and often about changing stuff, Kenta's stamina Bey is more than perfect for this role as representative of Saggitarius, and it's spledidly done without any doubt, Kenta represents Saggitarius well, and beyond that, even enhances some of it's themes, like Growth, justice, hope, optimism, and faith.
The only possible change is making him a little more dense and cluelesss, but that is boring and done in anime (and luckily Gingka didn't act like this, we don't need more bland Goku clones), or him being like Yu impatient with stuff and not wanting to do the same thing over again. That could have led to more bonding with yu, but it's not needed, he already as a good relationship with Yu.
So...Kenta needs nothing to change, he is the perfect Saggitarius rep, only being matched by Gumball from The Amazing World of Gumball and the sequel, The Amazingly Wierd World of Gumball. But back to Beyblade, Kenta is a bonafide Sag like how it should be.
Kenta for the win, everyone, Kenta has done it!

The last day someone could have been Sun sign Saggitarius is the 21th December, then the winter solstice starts and your Sun sign would be Capricorn. The 21th December is important, because in Fury, it was stated that Nemesis will return on 21th December 2012 to bring forth the end of the world, which many doomstay preachers during that era in our world also said. Our world survived, as there was no peril, aside from a Orange Peril awaiting his day to start doom the world, but he will be dealt with.
But in the Metal Fight World, this would have been the end without the Legendary Bladers. And since the first half of the 21th December is still Autumm, Gingka as the Autumm Constellation Blader, was thus destined to defeat Nemesis! So Again, Astrology shows the way, and thus Gingka's role foreshadowed his victory against Nemesis.
With that fact out of the way, we leave Autumm fully, and go next time to perhaps the hardest season for many:
And starting the charge, it will be one of the hardiest and most disciplined signs ever: Capricorn!
