the problem with playing early access games is that when there’s a Scary Part i want to watch in advance so i know what to expect, the video content is so sparse that my choices are “at least three major updates out of date and therefore useless” or “jump cut edited so the parts i wanna see are functionally skipped over, and therefore useless” and now i’ve gotta fortify and go into the scary place and i don’t wanna

Building a Better Habitat in the Space Wreckage of Astrometica

Astrometica is a first-person survival game where a lone explorer starts with little and slowly builds their way up to a comfy home.

While the asteroid field is a large place with a good number of surprisingly-diverse areas to explore, it's not the only map Astrometica will have. For the initial Early Access release, a couple of the other maps are available but also where the adventure ends, empty other than with the promise of having more new toys to play with later on. New tools, machines and even weapons will fill out the player's abilities, and it's an engaging enough adventure up to the point it stops that it's hard to resist poking around afterwards to see if there's anything you might have missed.

Floating Around the Interplanetary Debris Field of Astrometica Prologue

Astrometica: Prologue is the first two missions and a good-sized chunk of explorable space for the forthcoming survival/crafting game Astrometica. Starting off in a cramped habitat holding little more than two chests with basic supplies, a fabricator and a mission terminal, the astronaut will need to scavenge the mineral-rich area around home base to craft the needed equipment to survive in the airless environment of space.
