Master Chief returns to his origins twenty-five years later.

Campaign Evolved is a little more than what we got a decade ago, as it contains additional features rather than a simple graphical upgrade, but it’s not quite on the level of a full-blown remake or reimagining. Campaign Evolved feels like a half-step, but one in the right direction. The number of quality-of-life improvements can’t be understated as most of them only help elevate the experience. At the same time, some of them put a damper on things.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a fascinating new way to explore the franchise, seeing the classic characters face each other in battle. The fast-paced 2D action is enjoyably dynamic, and the developers managed to make each character feel unique while also having enough universal gameplay elements so that the learning curve isn’t too hard for any of them. The only things that keep it from greatness are some kinks here and there that can hopefully be fixed in the future.

DICE Gets a Win with Battlefield 6 Season 4's Tsuru Reef

We got to go hands-on with Tsuru Reef, the sole map launching alongside the season, and it was an absolute joy and might be the best map rel

There's a lot of work to be done, but DICE has delivered an absolute banger with Tsuru Reef. It's beautiful, it plays well, and it heavily stands out compared to every other map in Battlefield 6. Would more content be wonderful? Yes. Would getting more than one map at a time be the best way to deliver content? For sure. Do vehicles need some TLC? Absolutely. When Season 4 arrives though, players get an excellent map, three enjoyable weapons, and a new location fit for a vacation.

Disgaea Mayhem Review: Action-Packed but Loss of Potential

Disgaea Mayhem is an action-RPG that adapts the power grind of the strategy series into something more similar to the Dynasty Warriors games

Once the credits roll and the epilogue is complete, there's no reason to go back into its remaining challenges because there's nothing to use them for. No super-secret thousand floor dungeon, no bonus challenge, nothing but earning equipment to earn equipment to earn even more equipment, and that's not enough.

In terms of establishing the fundamental aesthetic of the 1990s strand of cinematic cyberpunk, the 1993 Super Mario Bros. adaptation is probably up there with Johnny Mnemonic and Lawnmower Man influence-wise, as much as we all hate to admit it.

Doom: The Dark Ages | Revelations Review

Does Doom: The Dark Ages | Revelations find the right middle-ground, or should this DLC be thrown straight into Purgatory?

Doom: The Dark Ages | Revelations does what any good DLC should do: give you more of what the base game did right, while also adding in new layers. The addition of the Chain Spear brings back a handful of beloved Doom Eternal mechanics, spicing up gunplay with new capabilities and movement options. The choice to reveal the Slayer's past adds dimensions to a character and better frames his actions in Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. The narrative may be a breeze, but the DLC is jam-packed with extra content to keep you entertained long after its conclusion. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows, though.

Denshattack! Review: Pure Train Madness

Denshattack! is a trick-based game from the Tony Hawk school of design, except literally on rails.

Rounding out the package are a good number of side-quests, from filling in magazines that give an overview of each area and the gangs that run them, to bonus goals leading to hot springs where the growing cast can hang out and chat, to decorating the different train cars with decals and a new paint job. Wrap it all up in a vibrant and super-stylish presentation, including the soundtrack, and Denshattack! feels like a lost Dreamcast game finally getting rediscovered after falling through a crack in time. Denshattack! is a huge fun crazy bag of pure videogame madness, running at full tilt from the very first level and never letting up for the entire ride.
