There is always much about the Batter, about Elsen, about Zacharie, maybe about Sugar... But now Ive started to wonder what kind of creature can be Dedan? There is some info about him?

“First, is Dedan the only one of his ‘race’, or are there others that look like him?”
“Dedan’s is the only one in the game, but maybe there’s, or there was, other like him. I never thinked about it.”
What is Dedan? > I don’t know. A mutant maybe.
That’s all I could find that Mortis has said about what he is.
We are told that his body is completely made of metal and that means (to me) that there is definitely more of a chance he was created as he is rather than born to something. As strange as the OFF world is, no one is giving birth and no other being are made from this element. Metal comes from the inside of cows where the quality metal is used for tools and others things while the low quality metal is discarded and makes up the ground. I don’t think he was created from discarded metal or crafted by elsens as he exists before them.
The name Dedan comes possibly from the Hebrew noun דד (dd), meaning breast or nipple, or the Hebrew verb דדה (dada), meaning move or lead slowly:
For a meaning of the name Dedan, Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names goes with דדה (dada) and reads Leading Forward, i.e. great increase of family. The NOBSE Study Bible Name List reads Low, for no discernible reason. BDB Theological Dictionary does not translate but lists the name Dedan under the root דדה.
The etymology of his name doesn’t help too much. But, it is humorous that his name could mean nipple and he has nipples.
In battle, his attacks all are associated with time; It’s interesting that his name could mean to move slowly.
“The word “Dedan” is additionally similar to the French words “des dents”, which mean “the teeth”. This coincides with his physical depiction.”
He seems to have human characteristics but he’s so far from being a real human that it is ridiculous.
I don’t believe Mortis had a true answer for this.
