Lakes through the haze: on this date in 2013, our Cassini spacecraft had a good view of the liquid hydrocarbon seas that dot the polar regions of Saturn’s haze-enshrouded moon Titan. Titan is the only place in the solar system, other than Earth, that has stable liquids on its surface. In this case, the liquid consists of ethane and methane rather than water.
