Actually sobbing over the Artemis II crew naming a lunar feature after Reid Wiseman's late wife. The crew crying, the group hug, the people further from Earth than anyone has ever been having a beautiful, human moment. That was so moving
Happy late trans visibility day :)
Trans people can double jump and also turn invisible (very true)
I didn’t see anybody make this dumb joke this year so I decided to do it :)
And @sabbattycal ‘s Astro is here (My first fredstro art finallyyy)
Also haven’t seen a lot of transmasc love this trans visibility day so have this lil heart too ❤️
Oh wait aren’t I also-
Astroposting
Your word is "Space"
Firstly, drowsy siren, I would like you to know that the ask alone made me think of a siren song emitted from space. An impossible place for someone to get to on their own power... how would a soft-minded hypnotee feel if they were beaconed by the stars. Desperately lured to reach up and out but unable to break away from this world. I do like the idea of someone just consumed by an impossible need.
But that's just a silly thought that entered our head.
Our question is this: "If I were to ask you to imagine the most relaxing and safe space imaginable. A place for you, and you alone, to just let go and sink into mindless oblivion; where would you conjure in your mind? Why? Is it a real place or connected to any experiences or fantasies?"
Oh my word, I love this idea. My mind immediately dove into exploring both sides of the dynamic:
The Source of that alluring song being some cosmic being beyond mortal comprehension—That which was there before time began, She who fuels the acceleration of cosmic expansion, or perhaps They who weave together the fabric of gravity. Singing into the void. Calling out into the cosmos, asking to be found. To be seen. To be understood.
The Song finding its target in an aimless student, instilling in her a budding curiosity. She finds herself drawn to the sciences, where she pesters exasperated professors with questions no one (yet?) is able to answer. She reads. She observes. She hopes someone can point her to the truth.
She reads more.
She forces her aching body through a long and arduous graduate degree, fascination blossoming into obsession.
In a decade, they'll call her a leading expert in her field. She just wants answers. Needs. Answers. Needs to see Her. To know Her. To understand Her cosmic Truth. If only she could look longer, or get closer. She needs more. She designs new telescopes and new cameras, feeble attempts to reach out across the stars to the One whose song draws her in
Perhaps only at her undoing might she finally be allowed to embrace her Love
And perhaps she once was me.

To Answer the Question:
"I could make this sooo much more concise and readable" vs "it looks ugly but do I even have time to do that" currently duking it out in my brain
I kinda made a post like this a few years ago but the unique dilemma in astro boy 2009 is. because Astro is uploaded with Toby's memories, I think he does act like Toby. Now obviously I don't think they're the same person, not at all. But. He has Toby's memories. He probably does, or did, act at least similarly to him, especially before finding out about what he is. But Tenma never spent any time with his son, so he probably wouldn't know how Toby acted whether Astro was like him or not. I mean. We see Toby for like 10 minutes but even from that we can see he's a little rascal. he's cocky about his test he finished in 2 seconds. hijacks Orrin to drive to the Ministry. he pisses off the general guy immediately and gets sent away. steals the guards key card, sneaks back into a part of the Ministry that he's not supposed to be. And then ughh ughhh Astro is ever so slightly mischievous and makes a silly animation with his math homework and makes . fucking awesome paper airplanes. And Tenma is like GET THIS IMPOSTER OUT OF MY SIGHT. DUUUDE.
tell us a fun fact
fun fact: im gay
venting fun fact: astronomers do not have consistent naming conventions for almost anything. the same object in the night sky, be it a star, nebula, galaxy, protostar, whatever, will almost always have 10 different names and it's difficult to determine whether it's the same thing or different parts of a binary star! Making the mistake that "Star 1234A" and "Star 1234" were the same object is something that has cost me weeks of research time.
an actually fun fun fact: in early science fiction (and actual astronomy) it was often believed that there was not only life on Mars, but potentially a flourishing civilization under the clouds of Venus! Early low resolution photos appeared to have "towers" poking out of the tops of the clouds, which some took to be evidence of life. Of course these would all end up being shadows, but it's interesting how "accurate" some of these very silly ideas were considered at the time.
