Oncoming Storm || Volkner & Flint
The sky rumbles and roils as if in ire over Sunyshore. By the time the sound of flip flops slap against warped wooden steps lightning lances across the sky and before thunder can chase behind it a sharp whistle sounds in its stead. It’s going to be a nasty storm and Flint counts himself lucky to get to Volkner’s place in time.
“Volk’s gonna love this one,” he grins up at a darkening sky, lets the first few heavy drops of rain hit his face before he shifts the bag he’s carrying to his other hand so that he can find the keys to his place in his pants pocket.
Lucky for him he’s not misplaced it this time, though as he opens the door and sounds the alarm that he’s there. Loud n’proud he announces himself, a ‘Yo, Volk’ carrying out into the dark house. When he gets no response he groans, wonders if he’s going to accidentally step on the guy because he’s too damn lazy to turn the lights on and instead ends up banging his knee against the couch. He hisses and curses, thunder booms and lightning cracks and once he finds a nearby lamp to get some freaking light it doesn’t take him long to figure out Volkner’s not there.
Great. He expels a disappointed note, runs a hand through his hair and taps his foot in thought. He knows now he should have called because chances are Volkner’s at his gym and there’s no way in hell he’s going to make the trek over there while it’s raining Glameows and Luxrays. Geez, when did it start pouring, anyway?
Impatient glances are tossed at the door and after fifteen minutes pass that feel like an hour he fishes his Pokétch from his pocket. He’s about to send Volkner a series of texts when he hears someone at the door. He twists around on the couch, his face lighting up when he sees the man of the hour pushing the door open.
“Well, well, look who it is!” he lifts his bag of spoils probably containing all their favorite foods, hoping a combination of getting to see his lovely face and it will get that sour puss look off his face. “I was in town so I thought I’d swing by. Didn’t know it was supposed t’rain though you must be in heaven right now!”
He isn’t about to tell Volkner he came by just to see him.
