Asuka Langley Sohryu - Ephemeral Summer 

Bru this took me nearly two weeks due to my heavy schedule ;-;

inspo - process - finishing

So, I actually planned to just make a simple inspiration drawing of a song by re:plus「Ephemeral summer」. The song came as a part of a playlist in spotify called “Road Trip to Tokyo”. A good friend recommended it to me. 

You can see the finished piece of the very first draft/piece I did below or above lol. 

It’s really terrible lmao.

Then, I was like nah man this looks terrible Imma redo 

So, I had to stich up a scheme

Theme 

Setting, the song reminded me of the garden scene in Spirited Away, where Haku gave Chihiro onigiri(?). 

Time, a mix of the golden hour but its getting late 

Expression, another thing that the song reminded me of was a sense of waiting, longing, and fulfillment. Henceforth, in this picture, Asuka looked surprised as if meeting “Someone”. 

Character, I could’ve changed the character but the previous line art that I made already sorta looked like her haha. But anyhow, after watching the first evangelion series, I have come to a conclusion that Asuka is my second most favorite character after Misato for now. And, you know the girl been through really tough times. I truly hope that she’ll get a conclusion she needs one day.
