He had dark blonde hair and a scruff auburn beard that made Charlie think of places he’d like to experience beard burn at. He was, arguably, the most handsome man Charlie had ever laid eyes on. Which probably meant he was straight, or an arsehole, or married, maybe to Darcy even. The two of them started talking, not loud enough for Charlie to overhear, but after a second Darcy looked at him, followed by the guy. Charlie had to quickly look down but he was pretty sure he was just caught staring at the pair of them. He had such shit luck sometimes.

Which wasn’t anywhere on his nightstand, where he thought he’d left it the night before. He sat up, swinging his legs over the bed and looking to the ground, happy to spot his phone face down. It took him a moment to get the energy to bend down and pick it up. 10:13 am. Yup, he just slept through his 9:00 am lecture and is well on his way to missing his 10:30 class.

He was the only one getting off at this stop and he paused under the bus stop's roof as the bus left him there. He’d hoped he would see something, anything, to jog his memory, but nothing called out to him. He was only six the last time he’d been anywhere in the area. He barely remembered what the house looked like, let alone the surrounding area. He could remember the kitchen most of all, the time spent baking his with Mum, standing in the little kitchen, an apron tied around his waist. They were probably his favorite memories of being here, the little pleasant ones he had.
