"Abo Canyon Odyssey"

ATSF ALCO PAs No. 63, 51, 59, and 64 lead train No. 1, the Westbound San Francisco Chief, through the scenic Abo Canyon. Prior to Amtrak's formation, the train made its last run on April 30th 1971 and Abo Canyon hasn't seen any passenger train since then.

Santa Fe RSD-15 #7550 having some fun with a good sized local freight train. Need to get it a Santa Fe caboose with good couples cause it’s kinda weird that I don’t have one for it. Also I just wanted to point out that yes, these videos I’ve been posting are all on a club owned layout which is why it looks so much better than the video I posted with Philip. Hope you’ve been enjoying the spam!

From Classic Trains: “Santa Fe PA1s 75L and 78L hustle train 23, a nameless three-car remnant of the Grand Canyon, up Edelstein Hill west of Chillicothe, Ill., on Feb. 10, 1968. F.C. “Buck” Dumaine Jr. and the Delaware & Hudson saved the PA from extinction.”

The Santa Fe Working Stockton in 1993 -- 6 Photos by Marty Bernard Via Flickr: Second three photos: I first caught AT&SF GP50 3816 down by the Stockton yard on April 16, 1993. Then I moved down to the Tower and waited for her crew to start to leave town passing the Tower. The last photo shows a couple of diamonds at the Tower. I wrote on the slides that it was Train 169.
