By @russelljames One day in 2011 I received a call from a client who was quite panicked. “Candice has dyed her hair platinum white! We have a shoot coming up and why do you think she would do that? Do you think she will dye it back?". I said I’d get right back to them and I thought about it a minute. Then it occurred to me and I laughed out loud to myself. I sent a one word text to Candice. It just said 'Khaleesi’. Her instant reply was, ‘Hahahahaha Yeeeeeesssss Russ! Mother of Dragons! How did you know???”. I said, " Just a hunch". I called the client back and said, “We are going to have to make the hair work. At least until this tv season is over". We shot the campaign and it was a huge success as it always is. I could write a book of these anecdotes and still not fully convey why Candy makes our hearts smile. Now the mother of two of her own beautiful young dragons, Candy is also a fierce advocate for our precious planet and its fragile life. She manages to accomplish all this while keeping a little grin on her face that says, ‘I’m trouble in wings’. I have no amount of shots that could fully describe our amazing journey though this industry and life, from near-falling out of giant trees on tropical islands, being stranded on sand bars with massive sea shells, being caught in torrential storms for days, to hot city streets and to many backstage misadventures to try count. I can tell that for Candy this first 30 years have just been a warm up. I can’t wait to see where the next 30 takes us.
