Currently working on a less-waste-jumpsuit and I am very happy that I figured the pattern (which came without any instructions) out.
I hope I did, the pictures the website provided were... black and very bad illuminated.
Well, it's the one jumpssuit to rule them all by atacac. If anyone knows what happened with that company, please tell. Last information I have about them is from 2022...
/ ATACAC
*chosen brand to investigate
Atacac is a brand that really think outside the box on many levels – also when it comes to selling. They allow their customers to pre-order garments before they arrive in stock. This way, the garments are available at a lower price before and during production. In a way, the pricing is similar to that of many airlines: the further in advance you buy, the less you pay.
The four aims of Atacac are design, present, sell and produce.
- design: explores and develops an alternative model for designing garments that takes as its point of origin the actual, variable body. Instead of a static matrix of a rigid body, this kinetic garment construction.
- present: three-dimensional communication.
- sell: selling the garments before it is produced. Through their innovative take on their price model, Atacac managed to reverse the traditional one, making it possible for them to offer the same price, to produce locally and to avoid waste in their design process.
- produce: In order to explore and develop new such ways atacac started an in-house micro-factory for maximal speed and flexibility in production. Today the micro-factory produces all Atacac garments alongside production for other local brands and companies
*Atacac is not a fashion brand. Atacac is an ongoing fashion experiment. When they started Atacac they launched it with a dynamic pricing model.
Tried to remake an Atacac pattern! I love how it’s designed all out of one piece! the shape has quite some waste but within their business model it’s probably still better than most. The fit of this garment is also very nice, a loose and breathable fit with an interesting neck curve.
