Congratulations to artist Allan Wexler on receiving a 2016 Guggenheim Fellowship Award in Fine Arts!
Allan and Ellen Wexler created “Overlook” (2009), a sculptural balcony at the entry pavilion for the MTA Long Island Railroad at Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn. The mathematically pixilated rocky granite walls reference scenic overlooks often found in national parks, where travelers are encouraged to pause and take in the larger scene, and evoke the adventure of travel.
