12 | ATBRA | عطبرة
So, its my first time visiting a place outside the Khartoum state and it have been such a wonderful journey discovering new places in Sudan.
Atbra showed me how people outside Khartoum live their life. How people in small cities and communities communicate. I found - Mostly - everyone knows everyone. Everyone say Salam to everyone .. i know that’s suppose to be a normal thing in our Sudanese community, but people of Khartoum have changed a lot, they are not who they were at least 15 years ago. Although a lot of people in Atbra are originally from other cities and they came here to work, but the small community made them closer to each other.
Also, something very interesting caught my attention from day one that’s Atbra is clean .. its 100 times cleaner than Khartoum (which is the CAPITAL).
I think Domestic Tourism is a must when it’s possible, to know the motherland better will get me more attached to my people, especially since i lived my whole life abroad.
It is my first and -Insha'allah- not the last trip around Sudan .. I still have many places to visit in my to-do list .. but let’s wait till the next holiday :) .
