hello my dears... ive been gone for a while... heres a pseudoscorpion (Paratemnoides sp.) hitching a ride under an unsuspecting darkling beetle (Strongylium tricondyloides)

i was hesitant to submit these photos because theyre old and not the clearest... but this is one of the more interesting things ive seen...

i went like... 'oh! is this beetle feasting on a small bug?' i looked closer and realised the mandibles of the beetle werent touching the bizarre bug that was attached underneath. looking closer at my shots... i realised it was a pseudoscorpion... and i found out that it wasnt parasitising the beetle... just hitching a ride

its kinda fascinating... how pseudoscorpions are basically these tiny looking little scorpion things that treat bigger bugs like their personal taxis and just latch on to go somewhere else...

heres a different pseudoscorpion individual... but it should be from the same genus so you can take a clearer look at it! i wont be posting the photos, but i once saw one of these guys grab a massive ANT by one of its legs and it just flung the ant off a railing... rhino beetle style... except the pseudoscorpion is like... so much smaller than the ant
