Merry Christmas #mbafriends #ateneomba
Business School
Last August 19, just when I least expected it, I received an email confirming my accepted to Ateneo Graduate School of Business. I felt happy and I knew that another chapter of my life was slowly unfolding. I decided to take Business Communication and Applied Mathematics for my 1st trimester but ended up taking the latter and Managerial Statistics. Someday, once I look back and start connecting the dots, I'll know the reason why I wasn't able to take BusCom in my 1st trimester. For now, I'll trust that my choice was for the best. Tomorrow, August 29, will be our orientation. I hope I could start building a network of friends and start photocopying the textbooks I needed. September 5 is the start of classes and I already have 2 chapters waiting to be read. Right now I'm reading my downloaded eBook, Business Statistics by Ken Black and Review of Basic Algebraic Concepts. I aim to get the highest mark at school and though math does not favor me, I'll make sure that by the end of the day, it would help me be wiser and much adept in applying it's concepts at work.
My Journey to MBA
Last April 28, 2015, I decided pursue an MBA. From that day on, I've decided that I will enroll to Ateneo Rockwell and get the degree in 3 years time. I know that I sound very optimistic right now but I know it would be a painful journey. I can already feel my struggles: • steep tuition fee • work, life & school integration • focus and inspiration to be consistent It's not going to be a bed or roses for me and I have to make changes as early as now... starting with my finances. If I want to be able to take at least 2 subjects per trimester, I have to save a minimum of PHP 5,000 per cut-off. That means, I need to live a spartan life. I plan to take my entrance exam on July 11, 2015. I have downloaded half a dozen of GMAT resources and bought Kaplan's GMAT 2015 Strategies, Practice & Review to prepare for my self study. I do not plan to just pass, I plan to top the exam by studying for a total of 200 hours in 65 days. This is a test of my grit and a change to show grace under pressure as I'm also expecting to transition to a new line of business at work on or before June.
