Atequiza, Jalisco.
They beat them up. The police beat up the students from Atequiza... they chased them through the maize fields in the middle of the night.
They had to hide until the media and the farmers showed up, then the police was forced to leave the fields. Nobody was arrested, everybody is safe now, but there were blows from the police and what fucking pisses me off is that the news are only focusing on how great our police is and how they managed to leave the students peacefully.
One of the students said the cops were yelling threats at them: "Didn't you know they're beheading students?" "This is what you deserve, bola de pendejos".
Last night, there was repression in three points:
The farmers and students that were protesting in La Barca, there's testimonies saying they used pepper spray and rubber bullets, and there was agression to reporters so the information wouldn't leak.
The Escuela Normal Rural de Atequiza, it was surrounded by the police.
The students from Atequiza that were heading to La Barca to pick up their comrades after they asked for back-up.
The Atequiza students are calling for a press conference in a short while, so I'll come with more information later. Right now I can't source you to anything, since everything I know are from face to face testimonies of the students themselves.
