How to reach Tansa #Wildlife #Sanctuary (WLS) & lake?
↑ Tansa lake: watching the calm ripples of the cool water ↑
Take a train going to Kasara on Central railway > Get down at Atgaon station (it's after Asangaon) > exit Atgaon station towards platform number 1 side (west) > ST bus stop / shared jeep stop just outside the station > Rs. 12/- ticket by bus to Tansa or Rs. 20/- per head sharing in jeep to Tansa > a green gate marked by a yellow stone is TANSA WLS stop > alight here > 0.4 km from here is the Tansa dam, which is restricted zone & 0.1 km is the Forest rest house, which is currently under renovation.
Our journey:
7:18 am Dadar > train > 8:51 Atgaon > 9:00 am ST bus to Tansa WLS > 14 km, Rs. 12/- ticket & 20 minutes bus ride > 9:30 am Tansa WLS & return by shared jeep also took 20 minutes & 20/- rupees.
One can walk along the banks of the lake & the surrounding forest, taking care not to litter or enter the water.
Carry pack lunch & 2 litres bottled water to sustain through the forest.

HOW TO GO TO LAKE MODAKSAGAR FROM TANSA WLS?
Drive ahead of Aaghai village on Wada-Shahapur Road & DO NOT take the left turn on the yellow road. Go straight to the white road. See map to know road colors. 19°34'01.4"N 73°14'22.6"E is the junction. GO straight from this point. NO turns.
