The Aqua Teens And Love Languages!

this is kinda a mix between drabbles and headcanons? Idk... I wrote it so you can interpret it as either humanized or not, so go wild!

Frylock:

Quality Time: Oh goodness, please offer to help him with his research, I feel like he’d love to have a lab partner. Even if science isn’t your thing, he just appreciates the fact that you’re taking time to spend time with him doing something he loves. Does the same for you too, asking questions about your hobbies and interests. He definitely does research into your hobbies in his free time.

Words of affirmation: The king of oddly specific, somewhat weird compliments. Things like “you have a beautiful brain”, “your skin is so smooth”, things like that.

Physical Touch: Definitely more touchy than you’d expect. Not super into PDA, but definitely needs to be holding your hand like all the time. Eating dinner? Holding your hand. Sitting with the other Aqua Teens? Holding your hand. Any time anywhere he can, he will be.

Acts of Service: Frylock is big on acts of service. Be something simple, like tidying up your shared room; helping do daily chores; making a meal; or more complex things, like proactively helping you solve problems you bring to him if he feels like it’s in his capability.

Giving/Receiving Gifts: Definitely gives gifts of use. Accessories, books, materials related to your hobbies; Clothes and accessories that fit your aesthetic, things like that. Goes all out for valentine’s day, I feel like he’s a romantic at heart.

Master Shake:

Quality Time: Big one for outings. Loves places like arcades, retro gaming stores, bowling…Any sort of games you can play together he’s down for. Loves playing any sorts of games with you. Also a sucker for domesticity, He’d never really imagined himself to be a sappy sort, but something about chill days in cuddling and watching TV really brings a warmth to his heart.

Words of Affirmation: I feel like he’s not the type to give big dramatic heartfelt declarations of love… His affection really shows in how frequently he compliments you. Even little things, like I like the way that shirt looks on you, your hair looks cool today, things like that. He’s not the polite sort, and doesn’t really complement anybody but you.

Physical Touch: Oh my god he’s so grabby. Walking past him? You get a smack on the butt. Standing beside him? Definitely either have a hand on your waist or butt. Sitting next to each other? Definitely tries to coax you into sitting on his lap. The most smug asshole about it, too.

Acts of Service: He’ll only do things for you. He may grumble a bit about it depending on the task, but it will end up done (Probably better than you expected). I personally headcanon that he’s secretly a good cook, and he definitely puts his entire heart into trying to make you the best damn dinner around. Cooking is one of the few tasks he does without needing to be asked, and he only does it for you. Like, pointedly only cooks enough food for you two so you don’t need to share with Frylock or Meatwad.

Giving/Receiving gifts: He’s a bit of a material girl, loves receiving gifts. He really tries with gifts, but it ends up being something a bit odd. A book with a title that made him laugh, a poster for a movie you talked about exactly 1 time, things like that. He knows his own skill though, and typically gets traditional gifts for you. Think plushies, candy, flowers, the works.

Meatwad:

Quality time: Loves, loves, loves when you read him books! He can read on his own, but something about the way your voice sounds when reading aloud is so comforting to him. Please let him show you all his toys, it’ll make little man’s day. Dream Date? MC Pee Pants concert. Loves sharing the things he likes with you, and hearing about the things you like! Will definitely demand to join you next time you partake in a hobby. 

Words of Affirmation: Gives you the sweetest compliments ever. Like, your hair is so soft, your laugh is so cute, I like the way that you smile. He doesn’t go out of his way to flatter you, but simply states them when he thinks them. Very cutely awkward when it comes to receiving them, very bashful and blush. 

Physical Touch: Very cuddly. Like, whenever you guys are just hanging out he wants to hold you/be held by you. A bit more of a little spoon due to being generally smaller than most people, but absolutely loves wrapping himself around you in a close embrace. Takes after Frylock in the way he needs to hold your hand constantly.

Acts of Service: Very much a sucker for the classics. Things like holding doors for you, carrying your bags whenever you two are shopping together, trying to do all the ‘manly’ tasks for you, etc. 

Giving/Receiving gifts: Biggest maker of homemade gifts right here. Draws you, buys beads and makes you jewelry, writes and makes up stories for only you, even trying to make simple treats for you (Fudge, brownies, things like that.)

Hi! I absolutely ADORE your athf headcanons! I love reading them, they make me so happy :)

I'm not exactly sure what to request, I just wanted to tell you that I loved these, but in the spirit of Valentine's Day, are there any Valentine's or physial touch/cuddly hcs that come to mind for the cast?

(Also clingy feral Err is something I never thought about before but works so well I love it so much)

Frylock

Frylock is typically fairly romantic, but not overly touchy in the way of PDA…although he’s more cuddly than he lets on!

Valentine's Day for Frylock is a very relaxed but very drawn out process with acts of love in between. A lot of gestures he planned out in advance, like flowers delivered whilst he’s out buying a gift, reservations at his partner's favorite restaurant, etc.

Frylock’s pièce de résistance of Valentine's Day is a handwritten love letter detailing how happy he is with his lover, some of his favorite traits about them and how excited he is to spend another Valentine's day with them.

Master Shake

Shake is absolutely the most touchy motherfucker out there. Always has his hands on his lover somewhere, be it casually resting a hand on their ass or wrapping an arm playfully around their shoulder

Shake has what I call affectionately “Time Blindness”. He probably doesn’t realize Valentine’s Day is soon until he’s caught in a conversation about it. Once he realizes he’d briefly forgotten, he puts all his energy in making a day of it for his lover

Definitely relaxed and honestly probably a cheap event, but full of love and devotion (dude is unemployed, but he tries!). Things like making his beloved a lovely homemade dinner, having an at-home spa night, as well as giving a couple smaller traditional gifts like a single red rose and a small box of chocolates

Meatwad

He’s such a sweetheart, and gives small Valentines to literally everybody in his life. Cute hand drawn cards with little sweet sentiments written for each person

Meatwad loves hugs, so much. He’s a big hugger, and definitely gives very good hugs. Like squeeze the life out of you type hugs.

He puts all his Valentine's Day effort into making a dessert. I headcanon that he likes to bake, and although he probably isn’t very good at it, it's the thought that counts!

Ignignokt

Ignignokt is surprisingly tender, especially when he and his partner have some alone time away from prying eyes. He’s a bit less reserved with his affection around Valentine's Day, and is very clear and direct in expressing his love to his partner.

Valentine's Day is one of the few times he attempts to plan a more in-depth and expensive date event. Making reservations at an expensive restaurant, buying his partner gifts rather than stealing them, etc.

Ignignokt also makes a quiet (but notable) show of doing things for his lover in the way of favors. Need laundry done? That’s his problem today! Forgot grocery shopping? He’ll take care of it! 

Err

Never forgets Valentine’s Day, he's very excited for it and planning in advance. He loves having a set aside day just to spend with his partner, and loves picking different events to do together or different experiences to get tickets for

He’s the touchiest guy ever. He’s very clingy in a very high-energy way; He needs his beloved to be hugging him, holding him, kissing him, making some form of physical contact with him else he hum loudly like a demanding microwave until they do...

Valentine’s Day for Err tends to be dedicated towards a specific event he found to be a good time for him and his partner to do together; If it’s dinner, the day is spent shopping for an outfit and discussing food options. If it’s an event you are absolutely in attendance open-to-close. No matter what it is, the day ends with a surprisingly tender declaration of life from him as he slowly drifts off to sleep in his lover's arms.

Emory

Emory is the thoughtful type when it comes to Valentine’s Day. He ensures whatever he has planned is something that takes thought and effort. Something emotional too, I feel like of all the boys he’s the one who’s most comfortable showing his vulnerable side

He takes aside the time in the day to tell his partner how much they mean to him, express appreciation for them and all they do for him. When it comes to planning the day's events he makes it a conversation of if his lover want to have a plan or have a specific idea for what type of date they’d like to go on

Emory goes all out for the gift part however. I know I’ve mentioned this before but he remembers everything his partner likes. He gets or picks a bouquet of their favorite flowers, gets their favorite candy in the cutest most Valentine’s Day-styled packaging, and some small piece of hobby-associated equipment or supplies. 

Oglethorpe

Oglethorpe is excited for Valentine’s Day with his partner in the same way a small child is excited for Christmas. I feel that whoever his current partner would be is the first one he’d have (I headcanon that he doesn’t have much relationship experience. He’s just happy to have someone to spend Valentine’s Day with)

He’s very touchy and cuddly. Any downtime between whatever he and his partner are doing during the day is spent with them in his arms carried around like a childhood comfort item.

Oglethorpe probably gifts something he’d hand made or something of comfort. I mentioned this in a previous post, but I headcanon him to very crafty and surprisingly good so he gives very well and lovingly crafted gifts

Carl Brutananadilewski

Carl is initially indifferent towards Valentine’s Day. He’s unused to all that “gushy, goo-goo” type stuff, according to him. The truth is a bit more sad…He’s truly unused to having someone care for him, and completely unsure how to go about planning stuff for his partner

The actual day of Valentine’s Day, Carl spends the day pulling out his best romantics. He’s a bit less unsavory than usual, more sincere and genuine in his compliments…even laying it on thick with very sweet and genuine yet awkward expressions of physical affection

He’s a bit of a classic lover at heart. His biggest plan for him and his lover is an expensive, fancy dinner followed by a relaxing night together. He makes a small vacation of it, paying for a hotel for the night for him and his lover to get away and focus on each other. It’s a whole lot of effort on his part; he’s not used to so much tenderness and it’s very emotionally vulnerable for him, but he loves every second of it

Hell yeah, dude! I made sure to separate them like you requested, let me know if you'd want a polyship set in the future! I really liked getting to look at them as individual characters, I feel like every time you see them in the show, they're literally only together.

Ignignokt

I mentioned this in my Love Languages post, but Ignignokt is a surprisingly low-maintenance partner. He’s very attentive too! Initially, he assumes you're also fairly low-maintenance but he changes his tune very quickly if you imply you're not.

Ignignokt is the type who likes to plan the dates. He takes your opinion into account on it, but for the most part dates are low-price low-prep.

Common Dates include: Movie and gaming nights at home, Shopping (shoplifting), late night walks

Ignignokt is not too much one for grand gestures of affection or public displays of affection but he is a somewhat possessive partner. WHen out in public, he always has a hand on your body somehow… Be it holding your hand, wrapping an arm lazily around your shoulders, resting a hand on your waist, he has to let everyone know you’re here with HIM.

Common Pet Names include: Babe/Baby, Darling, Honey, Dearest, plus all the prev with “my _____”

Ignignokt has definitely introduced you to Err, even before you two started your relationship. Err is obsessed with you, wanting to be close to the one who managed to capture his best friend’s heart. You three form some semblance of a friend group, going on outings quite frequently.

Ignignokt is a surprisingly tender guy when you two are alone. He’s very sparing with tenderness in public but behind closed doors he’s so severely down bad atrocious for his s/o it’s not even funny. This only happens behind closed doors for two main reasons: because he’s a bit egocentric and because you’re the only one he trusts himself to express tenderness and fondness around.

Err

Similar to Ignignokt, He’s surprisingly low-maintenance…except in one aspect

He’s the clingiest little guy ever. Constantly begging you pick him up if you’re capable of it, arms almost eternally wrapped around you. It doesn’t even matter if he’s the hugger or the ‘hugee’ he just needs you to be touching him constantly or he vibrates at high intensity until you do

He likes to let you plan the dates, he’s very easy-going and go-with-the-flow about it. It doesn’t matter way to much to him where you go as long as you’re together

Common dates include: Arcade visits, Amusement Park trips, home movie nights

He’s a little guy, yet still insist on being the ‘big spoon’ the majority of the time…it makes him feel important

Common Pet names: Anything and Everything, to be honest. Even platonic ones, you’ve probably been called “Bud” and “Pal” a lot alongside “Babe” and “Baby”

Bites you as a way of showing affection… when overwhelmed with cuteness aggression he simply chews on your hand

Has definitely introduced you to Ignignokt like right off the bat, very excited that he’d found a lover. Asks to bring you to at least half of their outings, he loves hanging out together with his two favorite people.

Hell yeah, dude! I'm so hype, I've gotten so many Master Shake requests but this is my first asking for Frylock! I'm so down bad for him and I refuse to hide it, so I'm so hype there's someone else who is! I hope you likeys these!

Frylock

It takes Frylock a little while of knowing somebody to fall in love with them, but whenever he does fall he falls hard. Like, stay awake at night thinking about them and constantly and silently pining hard

More likely than not his love interest started out as friendship, so spending a lot of time with him and having him invite them over much more often than before isn’t too much of a surprise

Frylock is very flirty with his significant other, no matter what point in the relationship they’re in and even before. He’s unashamed of how much he loves them, and doesn’t hesitate to express that to them

Common dates include: Museums, Book Store outings, romantic picnics, relaxed nights in, taking Meatwad on outings

Speaking of Meatwad, he definitely grows to see Frylock’s lover as a sort of pseudo-parent figure in a similar way that he views Frylock. Whenever Frylock is busy, odds are you’re hanging out with the lil’ man and having his toys proudly shown off to you.

Master Shake, however, is a bit jealous of Frylock and honestly tries to flirt with Frylock’s lover. He stops when it’s made clear they’re uninterested / with Frylock but before then nothing stops him from at least attempting. Once he's done playing "Mr. Steal Yo Lover" Master Shake is most commonly seen scolding Frylock for pretty much any physical affection. Commonly hollers at the two lovebirds to “Get a room”

Frylock is above all else a very doting lover, like 100% down bad so into his lover you have no idea
