Developer Blog #12
Hello and welcome back to this week’s edition of the developer blog! In this blog posts we will be covering all recent developments that has occurred on the various servers. Featured in the spotlight this time round is our very own improved version of the highly popular Bukkit Essentials plugin and our participation in Athion’s “Build an empire” contest. There has been a lot of interesting events and developments occurring on the various servers so please do read on for more comprehensive and in-depth information on items mentioned in the spotlight.
Athion’s building contest
It has been a insanely demanding and intensive week as the majority of our in-house build team decided to enrol in the prestigious building contest hosted by Athion Network. The team comprising of the duo Kevaasaurus and Chiverson along with some minor assistance from PanteLegacy have been giving their submission their heart and their soul.
The pressure mounting could certainly be felt as they are competitive against various other well established build teams including but not limited to Athion’s very own build team amongst many others. With the goal of the contest being to forge an entire empire within the constraints of a 1000 by 1000 blocks wide plot, Team Karus had decided to compose an entire mobile city wagon on wheels drawn by simply enormous elephants or their mystical counterparts. Drawing inspiration from various sources including Howl’s castle, the team has certainly delivered a master stroke in our opinion. Erected alongside the castle wagon is the terra-formed bust of a human head/skull while drawing inspiration from the many surrealistic natured paintings they found while researching. Hot on the heals of the city wagon, the colossal treant treads with the sole objective of permanently eradicating the city wagon and its inhabitants.
As the build team is currently preoccupied with said mentioned build contest, progress on the survival server build-wise has been regretfully minimal. However, with a chance at glory and the opportunity to have the network’s profile featured on the host’s planetminecraft page, we believe that it is justifiable to take the past week and the following to focus on the competition. Rest assured, we promise to deliver more content for the survival server once the competition is finally over.
Improved Essentials
With the network’s build team rolling away at their efforts for the building contest, the developers has been relentlessly working in the background. One reaps what one sows, the fruit of their labour is certainly worth the effort.
Our custom Esssentials plugin would be rolled out globally across all servers sometime this week so be sure to check it out. As essentially no release of plugins are virtually flawless, there may be the occasional bugs and glitches present upon launch and we sincerely apologise in advance for any inconveniences caused. Please do report any glitches found on our forums in the appropriate section.
Summary
A rather brief developer blog this week as the majority of the team is focusing on the building contest and would be so for the following week. Rest assured though that things would get back in swing once said competition is over. Until next week, this is Karus Network signing off.

Watch Athion reveal their beautiful new server spawn!
The Minecraft team that I am a part of has now opened their new creative server for all to join.
Athion is a creative network of people who simply love to make things; our staff members are lovers of gaming and the internet in general, and consist of some of the most talented people you can find in the community. Run by the original owners of the highly successful Mithrintia and Pwego/Insomnia Minecraft networks, Athion has established a high-quality creative design team within the Minecraft platform, and is currently developing a custom-coded, creative-based public server.
Athion and its creators have worked with and designed for many of the most popular and influential names, YouTubers, and servers within the Minecraft community, such as TheSyndicateProject, SkydoesMinecraft, Hypixel, MineCade, OlimpoCraft, HuskyMudkipz, and more.
Our future plans include continuing to update and improve our server, expand our design team, and hopefully expand into many more areas of creative works.
