"My journey with swimming began when I was five years old. I quickly fell in love with the sport. There was something special about being in the water, pushing myself to be faster and stronger every day." 💪
For Akankshya Nayak, a Bachelor of Sports Management student at IISM, that love has grown into an incredible journey, one that has seen her win 47 medals, compete at State, National, and Khelo India Championships, and earn an All India Top 10 swimming ranking in 2024. 🏆
Balancing academics with competitive sport was never easy. Reflecting on that journey, she shares,
"I would leave for practice before most of my classmates were awake, spend hours training, and then return home to complete assignments and prepare for exams. 📚 There were moments when everything felt hectic, but I fell in love with all the challenges and chaos along the way."
It's this passion and unwavering commitment that defines what it means to be a student-athlete.
