THIS moment, really early in the game, is crucial to Arthur’s character. The drunk, drug-using Reverend Swanson has just been a royal pain in the ass. He ran off and passed out while gambling, then runs off behind your back. Swanson then starts a fight with a guy that you have to fight or intimidate and then handle any witnesses. THEN he almost gets you both killed and starts yelling at you for being rough.

Frustrated, Arthur yells at him: “What the HELL is wrong with you?”

Swanson crumbles suddenly and starts to sob as he starts to realize he fucked up.

“I’m sorry,” he weeps, “I wish I was different.”

RIGHT there. Right then. You see this look, subtle and quick just flit over Arthur’s face and you realize it. 

Old drunk Swanson just bawled out Arthur Morgan’s own secret wish. He was angry but he can’t sustain it, seeing in the old drunken idiot...himself. The same vulnerable desire to change, to be someone other than your flawed self.

He just can’t say it out loud.

So instead, he takes him home. A courtesy from one wishful thinker to another.

2. how’s their team work? do they share well?

they work almost seamlessly together, fitting perfectly and accommodating where they need to. they have a certain kind of connection that can only be fostered by fighting together, by watching each other’s back when the world’s gone to shit all around them. 

4. first impression of each other? was it love at first sight?

annika thought he was arrogant, and a bastard, and a drunk. she only helped him because she had to, and because helping him went hand in hand with helping everyone, and her sense of duty wouldn’t let her walk away. keeshan thought she was nothing but an attack dog, blindly walking around doing what she was told with a stick up her ass. he only started taking her seriously when she stormed back into the inn with half his presumably-dead friends and his lost bow.

33. what kind of presents do they get each other? do they only do it on special occasions?

presents aren’t common with them, both of them preferring acts than material things. occasionally though, or for very special occasions, they’ll get each other practical gifts that they can make use of. new weapons, nice clothes, things like that. 

34. do they have any pets?

annika has pets (she thinks of them more as companions) and keeshan “married” into them, for lack of a better phrase. natalya and maiya are a huge part of annika’s life, and so they’re a part of keeshan’s life too. hati is there sometimes too, but the worg is too intelligent for his own good and wanders of his own accord sometimes.

44. are they comfortable with each other? anything they have to have their privacy for?

they share most things, and are comfortable around each other almost implicitly. after making the decision to live together, their lives have become even more intertwined than they were before. they still have their moments apart to keep themselves sane and because of the lives they lead, but when they get the chance they like to be together.

1. red dead redemption!! i feel like i’ve followed through the entire game only through your posts on my dash, because when i first followed you rdr2 was extra popular! what i’ve learned is that arthur morgan is beautiful and precious and deserves the best... anyways, that’s the first game i associate with you!

2. LAIKA SHEPARD I love her, i would die and kill for her, and her entire pinterest board and aesthetic is so beautiful!! i feel like i’ve really gotten attached to her more than any other of your ocs so that’s why i get so emo looking through her tag and thinking about her ajksdhsjs

3. i am kinda unironically waiting for you to start streaming on twitch? i remember you mentioning it sometime and it just got stuck in my that you’re gonna become a twitch streamer ?? (did you even mention this or am i having the weirdest fever dream flashbacks? who knows ajksjdhsj)

Lake Fun with the boys

Arthur

At first he doesn’t take part in the water.

Instead he draws his surroundings, you sit on the dock and dangle your feet in the water swinging them back and forth.

After capturing the beautiful picture on paper and sets his personal things to the side and he makes his down to the dock

some of the boys are down fishing while others are in the water.

“Are you getting in Arthur?”

“No but you are” he playful pushes you in and you squeal.

Dutch

Dutch watching what happened laughs as you come back up for air. You splash Arthur but it’s not near as revengeful.

That’s when you eye Dutch

He stands behind Arthur and places his hand on his shoulder

“That was a good one son.”

Arthur shakes his head in agreement and fixes his hat on his head.

“But mines better” Dutch shoves Arthur into the water and losses it, laughing so hard.

Javier

Choosing to fish instead of swimming isn’t all that shocking.

It’s a very hot day so what is shocking is seeing Javier standing off to the side with just a button up on open.

The sun shines brightly on his skin and he basks in the sun.

With a fish on the line, he reels it in showing off his muscles that are usually hidden

Kieren

Also fishing next to Javier is making friendly competition.

So far he has caught two more than Javier

He also takes in the view and watches the others play in lake.

Marybeth (or you) sits close by on a long reading and also keeping him company

Sean

Is definitely partaking in a game of chicken

Sitting on top of Charles shoulders he is trying his hardest to knock Karen off balance who is being held up by Arthur

“Oh come on English, you can do better than that”

Both Sean and Karen take a tumble into the water

Charles

After playing a few rounds of chicken here and there he mostly swims quietly

Takes a break to see what Kieren and Javier have caught

Maybe he takes some time to bask in the sun and lays on the sand bank

Charles enjoys watching everyone having fun and letting go. It brings him ease.

John

As he can’t swim he stays by the shore.

Watching jack with Abagial by his side enjoying a nice day.

No arguing, just pleasant conversation and enjoying the time to relax.

Maybe takes a break to go fish or show jack how to skip a rock across water.
