I don’t usually draw Coatls, and I realised that I forgot the head feathers! Oh no. Anyway, I thought the tree apparel was pretty cool with this one. I drew it for someone on Flight Rising - probably with a dragon named Atiya.

Being the familiar to the Sphinx has given Atiya a whole new way to look at the world.

Through the brand new sphinx eyeball that they woke up with one day.

It happens. Familiars pick up traits from their masters.

With one eye, a sphinx can see secrets. With the other, a sphinx can understand truths. Having one without the other isn’t always useful.

But Atiya can see in the dark out of one eye now. It’s very handy for night reading.

i said i was gonna do those character profiles for my ocs and it might take me a while to get through them, but here’s the first one!

atiya’s the protagonist of the story, the lead party member, the captain, the main-main character

he became king when he was a teenager after his parents died, and tries his very best to keep his people safe and happy. while his kingdom must come first due to his seat on the throne, he cares very much for his 12 year old sister miriam. 

fascinated by the way humankind as a whole behaves and grows, atiya spends his limited spare time learning about music and painting and writing, which he sees as one of the most interesting of the many ways people bond. 

he wishes to find a way to keep his people happy and to travel to see how the world beyond his kingdom has grown since the history books he grew up reading as his only connection to the rest of the world.

while he genuinely tries his best for his kingdom, atiya hates meetings with the kingdom’s court, and he hates having to deal with people in general - big anxiety man. while his previous head knight turned out to be a shitty man and ended up being killed by his own daughter he trusts said daughter, jeong-suk, more than anything.

he might also have the blood of a dying god in him but dont worry about it
