My first FABULOUS post on the “Tumblr”
Hello darlings~ It is I, the FABULOUS Mettaton. I am trying this item out that I’ve heard about called the “Tumblr”. I attended Momocon 2016 this year, and was asked A LOT if I had any “Social Medias”. Sadly, I did not, but because my adoring fans asked for it, I’ve decided to put myself out there under the name “Mannaton”. If you see any videos or photos of me, or wish to upload some yourself, please be a dear and tag me in them if you could darlings~ <3 Thank you to you ALL my adoring fans~ -Mettaton

How to Make a Panel
**The order or planning suggested in this is just that, a suggestion. If you feel better going in a different order feel free to do it your way! This is simply to help guide anyone who is new to making panels to be able to utilize their time as best as possible in our opinion.**
The first thing you need to do before starting a panel is go to the selected convention’s panel rules and regulations pages and read through it! Find out the cons submission deadlines and panel requirements. Not reading through these things is the easiest way to be disqualified from being accepted. Each convention has their own views on what content is acceptable for their con-goers.
List of con guide info for Atlanta Area:
MomoCon
Seishun- Con
Anime Weekend Atlanta
Atlanta Anime Day
After reading through those, come up with a panel concept that fits within their guide-lines. This could be anything from an ask panel to a more in depth content analysis or even a dramatic script-based theatrical panel. Each kind of panel comes with different difficulties- we will go over a few different kinds of panels briefly at the end of this guide.
Ok, you’ve chosen the kind of panel you want, now come up with a name and 2 to 4 sentences that generally describe your panel! You will be submitting you panel before you begin planning it. This is so that you get a response from the con sooner than later.
On a side note, not every panel works this way. Generally the sooner you get your panel
This will also help when telling others about your panel. Saying you’ve submitted it for submission in the better though. consideration helps bring on people to your project and allows a goal to be set initially that helps fans interested in following the project to know the status of the panel.
Nows the time when you get to choose what social media you would like to use to communicate to fans about the panel.
With every media it is recommended to that you make a special hash tag for your event no matter what media you use.
Personal tumblr: This method has always been fine if you don’t mind random people coming and viewing your blog and following you. Make sure you use your panel’s hash tag so your followers can find your panel info. That way people can easily find information about the panel even from the main sites
Make a side blog: This is a great way to stay anonymous and be able to share power over the project with others if you are working in a group. You can also more easily gage the interest of your event by how many followers you gain.
Consider also making a face book event page: If you make it through your fandom’s group page then the admins of the group can help you take care of it, or you can ask them to make one for you. Admns can signal boost your master post on tumblr but they will not make an event page without your permission. You will have to make sure the admin know when there is an update to your panel, unless you are running the event page yourself (then you will have to update it every time you post about the panel on tumblr).
Your master post should include all of the following; (order is up to you)
The name of the panel
The con you are planning to have it at
The 2-4 sentence description you wrote for the panel submission. Plus whatever other information you have about the panel.
Your general info, and the general info of people helping you (names or urls)
If it is an ask panel you should include all the requirements for your audition or a link to the info.
The status of the panel
Any other way people can find info about the panel (facebook event page etc)
It would be wise to create an image about your panel to be eye catching and that has super general info on it. Here’s an example;
Once you’ve made your master post you can message it out to blogs to get signal boosted.
This would include fandom community blogs and anyone popular you know going to that convention and likes your content.
Now’s the time to start ironing out all the little details.
If you are working with a group consider keeping all the planning info in the drafts of the side blog – or make a secret group page on facebook and add everyone involved.
Remember to keep some things secret so that the fans are surprised when they go to your panel.
Make sure to reblog your own master post when it starts getting close to the con and also the day of before your panel.
Remember that when though there’s a lot of work and planning that goes into creating a panel that it’s about having fun and learning from your experiences so next time you can do it bigger and better!
Feel free to contact an admin for your fandom community group is you are stuck, confused, or just need some help.
Types of Panels
Ask Panel: Normally involved multiple cosplayers from one fandom acting as their characters and interacting with themselves and answering fans questions in character. Normally unscripted but can have planned gags and skits.
Scripted Panel: *not recommended for first time panelist* This panel includes a script and cast. There is not much wiggle room for audience participation and the tech is always unknown (as far as music and lights are concerned).
This is always the most difficult kind of panel to get accepted at conventions. Unless you have an actual theatrical troupe and have URLs and previous experience doing this, it’s very likely you will not be accepted to host this kind of panel.
Info Panel: Where you basically just present what your fandom loves and why they love it.
Trivia Panel: A lot like the info panel except with a ton of audience participation and prizes. Take it to the next level by making it modeled after a famous TV trivia game show.
Have anything to add? Think something is wrong? Message us and tell us or feel free to message and ask for help.

This is the basic layout of what we were trying to achieve for the SparkleStuck 2016 Time & Space poster. It is set out to be like a character selection screen from a melee game where different head shots of characters would be inserted into the boxes and 2 characters would be selected.
The two selected characters (Homestuck; John Egbert, and Steven Universe: Steven) are drawn by the projects head artist stelacestine.
List of taken characters:
John
Steven
Jade
Amythest
Rose Lalonde
Garnet
Hussie
Condence
Lord English

(The last one should be Mettaton not Sans)
List of not taken characters:(to make things easy)
Bec
Lion
Rose Quartz
Paridot
We are looking for anyone who is interested in drawing for this or who already has art created and wouldn’t mind donating it to us to use for this purpose. If you do decide that you would like to donate work to us our head artist is asking for the imgs to be in either SAI or PSD files.
While all prepayers will receive this poster as a gift, any proceeds made from it will go back to funding the Winter Sparkles Event or other Sparkles/ Fandom Fusion events in the future. If you would like to donate art or are interested in helping don’t be shy to message this blog or my personal blog. Any reblogs with thoughts concerns or ideas are always welcome! Thanks so much!
