Heh, guys what if. What if Lucien woke up years later (maybe like 3-5 after end of campaign) and he has nothing. He's essentially at level 1. His blood won't respond to him. He has no weapons. It's easy to get grabbed by slavers when he can't defend himself and is alone. It's harder to keep his pride when he can't save himself. They break his horns, snapping them where they curve outward so he can't use them against them. They threaten to cut off his tail, to cut out his tongue. It's easy to believe that they'll do it when he's watched them do it to another slave for less.
It's even easier to believe that the "heroes" will hurt him again when they've killed him in the past already. What's stopping them from doing it again?
The m9 don't know what to do when they break up a slave trading ring only to find someone they thought was gone and dead a long time ago.
Maybe he really is dead because this Lucien isn't the Lucien they faced a those years ago. This one is broken and bruised and terrified of them.
