I'll be fine not bashing Basco for his shit the moment he apologizes for saying he dreamed of kissing Mae all the time. Talk about age gap, dude is 15 years older than she is. So yeah, maybe leave people who have an issue with his creepy ass alone?

Basco doesn’t say he wants to kiss Mae specifically, and if he does then, so what? They’re very, very good friends and she seems comfortable joking with him. They ship Ztara, they enjoy Ztara; it’s not a big deal as they’re genuinely nice about it. They don’t hate on Ktaang in public at least, and them saying why they dislike it isn’t anything huge since not every ship is for everyone. 

I explained on the post that I do think it’s valid that people don’t like Ktaang for the age gap because they see A.ang as a child and Ktara as a teenager. Even if they perceive A.ang to be mature and somewhat on Ktara’s level of maturity, it’s still a mental block for them to get over due to multiple factors. I understand that some people are just...mean when it comes to shipping, but I advise you to realise in a non-patronizing way that it can’t actually hurt you because there are bigger issues in the world and there’s never been anything inherently wrong with shipping any two, three, four, etc. characters or things together as long as you’re healthy about it (as in, recognizing that it’s fiction) and as long as you realise that you’re in control of your internet experience. Though, I know I should take my own advice more often than not as well, so it’s a learning curve that we both have to adjust too, together.

Hi, so I'd really appreciate if you didn't tag messages into Finnrey that don't have to do with Finnrey as a whole. Unfortunately, there are some Finnrey fans who, IMO, take things too far. But that is them, and there are others. If you want to judge an entire fandom on one or two people, that's your right, but I'd appreciate being able to come into the Finnrey tag without seeing a lot of discourse about why the Finnrey fandom is the worst ever because a few people are jerks. Thanks.

I never thought the FinnRey fandom was the worst ever.  The shippers on my dash are lovely people.  These randos are…less so.  But that’s their issue.  No one is responsible for their actions but them.

TBH, I do like to tag things so that I can find them again on my blog and this will probably be over by tonight.  However, I’m going to do some blocking of my own (only those specific folks), and have one more post to add.

Other than that, you probably won’t ever hear from me again, really.  Not because these particular folks have poisoned the well, or because I have anything against FinnRey as a ship.  But because I am mostly a casual Star Wars fan and never blog that much about it anyway.

Over soon, I promise.

EDIT: Never mind.  I’m just going to block them and leave it at that.  But, genuinely, I don’t think the whole fandom is awful just because these folks are.

Right, so I’m half black and half Asian, and I’m going to need that anon and anyone who thinks like them to be quiet. Kelly Marie Tran has decided it is more profitable to her to be a tool of whiteness against black people, and against John specifically. I have seen my maternal family members make this choice for years and years, such as my cousin who admitted he stopped going to BLM protests and took down the BLM sign he had on his computer because his white college advisor said he wouldn’t recommend him for a certain internship unless he did. No it’s not wonderful to be Asian in America. People are racist and especially now with the rise in attacks on Asians, it is dangerous. But people like that anon need to be entirely silent. Antiblackness in Asian communities is pervasive and harmful. Asians understand we are often weaponized against the black community, but in general will pay that price in order not to be treated as poorly. Kelly Marie Tran has decided to throw in with the antiblackness I have no doubt she grew up in, and those of us who are black, Asian, or both have every right to condemn her for it.
