Turn around
Anne Rice on being a woman, the fear of walking alone at night, and some examples of how vampirism is her world affected that.
It’s so dark down here, I can’t see a thing! Oh no, what a nightmare.
today’s the only day you can reblog this
“There Will Come Soft Rains”, Ray Bradbury
I keep seeing people complaining about how Aang is still grieving in the movie and it’s like… ok, first of all, his character is suffering a genuinely unimaginable level of loss and the kind of trauma this would inflict on someone realistically would be irreparable. This is something his character would and does carry the rest of his life. This is something you would never get over no matter how much time passes and no matter who might love you in the present. And second of all, grief is not some linear thing and if you’ve ever lost someone you loved, you would know that. And lastly, Aang was never even given time to grasp the magnitude of his lived reality in the show because everyone was counting on him to save their fucking lives and he had to do his best to keep it together
It makes complete sense that, after the war was over and after most conflict was seemingly resolved, Aang would inevitably fall back into his grief with nothing else to distract him from it. Just say you’re mad the movie devoted so much time to exploring this crucial aspect of the story’s main character and the event the cartoon was named after lmao. Just say you’re a fucking xenophobic asshole with no sympathy for those that have experienced anything even remotely similar irl to what the story depicts with Aang
Like idk who needs to hear this but proclaiming that the character who is the sole survivor of genocide should just get over it already is insane and I need you to shut the actual fuck up now and forever

«Años han pasado, pero mi corazón sigue latiendo con el mismo ritmo de aquel día en que te conocí. Te extraño con el alma, mi amor eterno.»✨
"Years have passed, but my heart still beats with the same rhythm as the day I first met you. I miss you with all my soul, my eternal love."✨

Delainey Hayles & Jacob Anderson on ghost!Claudia & Louis (TVInsider & After Dark)
Delainey said even she doesn't know "how much of it [ghost!Claiudia] really means." There's open-ended ambiguity about how much was actually true or not--it's subjectively up in the air.
Delainey said ghost!Claudia "resents Louis so much."
Delainey says ghost!Claudia is HURT, and people say all kinds of things when they're hurt, even if in the moment they mean "every single word"--or at least they mean for every single word TO hurt.
Delianey said that she thinks Claudia was jealous of Louis/Loustat, that he/they got to have the love & companionship that she wanted.
Delainey said the seance is NOT the objective truth, it's still all Lestat's subjectivity; "the seance is Lestat’s version of it, which is why she might not lay into him as much." So Lestat is still being an unreliable narrator. 🤦♂️
Delainey learned something new recently that gave her "a whole different perspective" on both Stained Glass Eyes AND the seance; that is making her question objectivity vs subjectivity. 👀
Jacob said he thinks that "one or two things" ghost!Claudia said wasn't true, it was just meant to hurt Louis as much as possible--including the word "Slave" being carved on his ribs.
Jacob said he thinks ghost!Claudia "means it and I think it’s good that she means it...[because Louis] needed to hear it from her." And some things she said "are completely true and valid."
Jacob said AMC chose the middle-ground for the seance, because there were different versions that were either "harsher" or "softer" to Louis.
Delainey said that ghost!Claudia "has a lot of hate for Louis, but at the end of the day I think she still does love him."
'I was so happy when I got that script,' raves Hayles.
I wonder if Delainey did the Vulture interview before the TV Insider one, and that's what she means by learning something new that gave her the new perspective? 🤔
And I reckon she did the After Dark & Collider interviews before Vulture, too, because she reiterates there that Loustat being back together is what ticked Claudia off--Delainey hadn't talked about it all being filtered thru Lestat's pov.
Adding this to the list from TV Guide:
A Father's Love (Pt4: Loustat & Claudia's Diaries)
Pt1: "What was he like, your Maker?" Pt2: Never Say 'I Love You' To A Raging Narcissist (NPD) Pt3: Parallels =/= Relatability (Claudia vs Bruce & Lestat vs Magnus)
