So this started with myself and my proofreader joking that if the engines were monsters who could move by themselves, you couldn't keep Henry and Gordon apart, and the image of Gordon breaking out and going on a rampage across the island was just so amusing to me that I had to draw it.

James just seemed like the character who would point out the obvious.

James - "Why don't you just go and find him?"

Gordon - "Why don't I just go and find him?"

James. - "I didn't mean right now."

Nia is the first other Show Engine that James has ever met. He is naturally curious about her. He then proceeds to try and show why he is the better looking engine in every regard.

Winston personally doesn't identify as a monster engine, but rather as a very large housepet. He thinks he is a massive dog, and almost blends in if you ignore his colour.

He is also very, very small when compared to the other working monster engines.

I amuse myself. Winston is the Fat Controller's beloved pet in this universe, his wife, of course, does not think Winston is as cute as her husband does.
