She’s not good on being on her own ––– quite the antithesis of GROOVY, that. So she goes to buy herself ice cream; why just be sad, when you could be sad and have ice cream? 

Vanilla turns out to be a good choice. The moment she sits down on the nearest park bench Daphne’s... not as alone as she was before. ❛ Oh, hello there. ❜ She says with unconvincing confidence, unused to dogs that don’t... talk back. ❛ Um... are you lost fella? ❜

            BEATIFIC GRIN LIGHTS up the huntress’ features at the excitable barks coming from the canine.     hands ruffle through soft fur,  delivering scratches behind velvety ears and down across his neck and chest.  soft kisses placed on his snout.    “  i KNOW it’s not what you’re sayin’    ---  but i’ll take it.  thanks, pal !   ”

     THERE’S      A      WIDE      GRIN      ON      HER      FACE      AS      SHE      NODS.                     hand  goes  up  to  scratch  the  other  behind  ears,  and  danny  can’t  help  but      chuckle.           ❛           sure  thing,  dogmeat.  my      only      condition  is  that  you  have  to  bring  me  a      flower.           ❜           it  wasn’t  as  if  she  had  anyone      else      lined  up  to  be  her  valentine.

soft boof !! a book fell over and spooked him from a nap ! such spook !! must boof !

             SHE MUST’VE FALLEN ASLEEP  during her reading, the heavy lore book falling to the floor to startle the softly snoring pup at the foot end of the bed. the surprised bark from Dog startled the sleeping huntress awake and she jolts upright, green gaze quickly scanning the room for intruders. finding none she shoots the spooked canine a glance of fond exasperation and lies down on her side, patting the covers to get him closer - and for a while the only sounds are the soft snores of the two beings cuddled on the bed.

𝐀 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃 𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐄, 𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓, 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃 ! what is it about this dog though ?   why isn’t he running or   ———-    barking  like the rest of his kind that can be found on the outskirts of any quarantine zone ?        ❛     hey there !     ❜       high pitched voice   (   ridiculous,  yes, but inevitable  )

         ❛     —-     are you on your own ?    ❜        she questions as if he could actually respond    (   she’d faint if he did )     ❛      it’s fine ,   i’m not going to hurt you   ❜      slow steps,   the last thing she wants is to scare him off,   he was,  after all,  the first normal interaction she has had in days,  if not in months !.   she kneels then,  a hand being offered for him to sniff and recognize that she was not a threat.    ❛     can i ?    ❜      was she asking for permission now ?   yeah !  sure,  why not right ?  and it’s then when she finally dares to carefully and gently run her calloused fingers through the doggos fur.
