HOW MANY GIFTS ARE UNDER KELS TREE AND ALSO WHAT ARE THEY 👀👀👀
“God’s blood.” Kellian panted, sitting on the stairs. Before him lay a tree- No, *the* tree, the one that he, as father to two very picky young women, had selected from those available. The tree itself was artificial - Atora had signed vehemently against cutting down a living tree to serve as their Starlight Sentinel - though it was a healthy shade of green, doing a rather good impersonation of the real thing. No sooner had Kellian set the heavy burden down on the living room floor (and cursed silently about the litter of needley leaves it had left in the carpet) his little girl Siva had thrown herself unto the trees’ soft embrace with a happy giggle. “You know, when I agreed to get a fake one, I didn’t think it’d be so damn heavy.” Kellian griped, rubbing his back. Atora gave him a flat look that was part amusement, part exasperation. The young blonde Xaela was a wiry thing, all athletic muscle and bony shoulders. Naturally, she wouldn’t have been much help - and little Siva was only two years old, and though she shared her father’s blue hair she certainly didn’t share his strength. Yet. Through a quick series of hand gestures, Atora asked her father if he had the strength left in his old bones to stand the Sentinel up so that she and Siva could begin decorating it. After much complaining, Kellian hauled the tree upright, setting it into its base and leaving it steady in the corner. He sat on the nearby couch with a tired grunt, watching with a smile as Atora retrieved the box of decorations that they had bought the day before. Despite Siva’s best efforts to eat the tinsel, Atora managed to get the tree looking bright and cheerful. Kel had done his bit - now it was her time to shine. While the girls were busy decorating the tree, Kel withdrew to the bedroom and started wrapping gifts. For Atora - a carefully crafted set of arrows, made by Kel himself. Some would puncture armor, some would explode on contact - others designed to bleed the target badly. Perhaps the gift was a little morbid, but Kel intended to outfit his daughter for her own safety by whatever means he could. For Siva - a model boat that she could float in a stream. When she was old enough, he’d teach her to use the remote to steer the thing’s engine. He’d be lying if he said that he wasn’t hoping to inspire some sort of nautical dream in the young girl. For his sister, Rahna - and her fiance Layya - A cookbook revolving entirely around romantic meals to share with one’s partner. The rest of his family would be well served with odd trinkets, things from the wider world that the tribe would not have had much chance to see - oddities like puzzle boxes and the like, some made by his own hand. There were other gifts, certainly, though... for certain other parties they were not gifts that one wrapped and left to be found under the tree with one’s own daughters. They would be delivered in time, surely. With the task done, presents stowed away under the Sentinel - it was definitely time for a nap.---Thanks for the asks @oracleffxiv, @valiant-flower-xiv, @carmen-ffxiv ! I just decided to answer all these at once.Think there could be a few more gifts under the tree? So do I! If anyone wants to send anything to any member of the family, feel free! I will be sure to note it and give an adorable thank you when characters next meet.Until then, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday of their choosing!
Best wishes from the Grey family!
