Tired eyes watched the city. Fingers drumming on the table she sat at, her other hand held a coffee she had bought. Seiji was in school and she couldn’t keep an eye on her precious brother then. A sigh left her lips as she leaned back on metal chair, slightly uncomfortable, but nothing too terrible. She hated to admit it but-
She wasn’t just bored with today. She was bored nearly every day. Oh, she didn’t have a job currently. Due to saving money from her previous job, which paid quite nicely, Namie did not need a job currently. It had been two years since the incident and she was still living comfortably. However, she knew she would soon need a job, because that money could only have lasted so long, and she needed something to do. Oh, she had done some jobs between her last job and now. Yet, Namie did not last very long, quitting usually before a month passed. She thought highly of herself and she would not do fools’ work and be given fools’ pay. The last time she had done such a job, it was under certain circumstances, and it paid very well. She gave another sigh, this time it sounded more annoyed, as she thought of a certain man she did not want to think about-
He was awful. In fact, he was probably one of the vilest people she had ever met, and she worked with people who had no moral objectification to human experimentation. Yet, he did technically save her ass, as much as Namie did not want to admit. He gave her a job and protected her from the police. Often times, it was horrifically boring work but the amount of digits on her paycheck at the end of each week made her turn the other cheek. Yet, there were times when her job was quite interesting. However, those were the times when she witnessed her boss at his worst. Grinning and snickering like a slime ball while he watched people around him suffer. She sometimes couldn’t stand watching such an awful person sign her paycheck, but she had no room to judge. She was just as awful as he was but in her own different ways.
It had been two years since the fire and his death.
He was gone and Namie had to admit, she felt nothing at the news. Perhaps a little remorse because she was never going to get a paycheck like that so easily ever again. He had it coming to him. To be quite honest, she considered herself lucky to not have been caught in that fire. However, despite how terrible he was, there was a small part of her that did miss him and the bit of interest he would add to her life time and time again. That realization alone made her feel pretty shitty and she never felt shitty for doing anything else in her life.
