Marcos 100% does NOT get jealous over Sumi. Like if a guy walks up to her and compliments her outfit, calls her pretty, or whatever then Marcos grins because yeah, his girlfriend is super hot and cute and deserves all the compliments in the world. He gets PROTECTIVE though when people try to touch her, guys get too disrespectfully close, and it's genuinely so funny because imagine Sumi saying: "I have a boyfriend." And some other guy is all: "Oh yeah? Let me meet him, I bet he ain't even that tough-" only for A HUGE ASS SHADOW TO ABSOLUTELY BLOCK THE SUN AND THE GUY TURNS AROUND and Marcos just grins and goes: "Well...you're meetin' him...still think I ain't all that tough, cabrón?"

But if someone is being respectful and actually admiring her or standing a respectful distance, Marcos just grins and lets his girl have her moment because he knows how her last boyfriend was so controlling over her and besides—HIS GIRLFRIEND DOES LOOK GOOD. EVERYONE SHOULD SEE HOW HOT SHE IS BECAUSE SHE'S LEAVING WITH HIM ANYWAYS. So their relationship is solid, IF SHE CAN DEAL WITH HIS CRAZY ASS FAMILY? He can deal with people HAVING E Y E S and functioning brain stems to register that his girlfriend is, indeed, hot.

However....he DOES get jealous over AWOL specifically. Like—that's his found family and best friends in the world and he's so protective and territorial over them. LIKE, he doesn't care if Lonan flirts with someone or Tommy is teasing another person because Marcos knows that ain't real but if THEY SEEM GENUINELY INTERESTED OR INVESTED IN THE CONVERSATION—Marcos just narrows his eyes and stands between his team and is all: "So...whose your new amigo?" and he does a devastating side eye to the other person and he's not impressed. Hachika is friendly and Marcos is chill with that but he can tell when she's shifting from politeness to actually connecting with someone and he'll tell the other person: "Don't make a big deal about it—she's just nice to people. You need'ta earn her friendship, Como lo hice yo." Before he shoulder checks the guy. OR, WHEN THEY'RE TEAMING UP WITH OTHER HERO TEAMS and another tank, like Hulking or Captain Marvel do something AWESOME OR STRONG and Bakari whistles and was all: "Wow, that was impressive. You must be strong as hell." Then Marcos slowly turns his head at that hero and he's just MEAN MUGGING THEM ALL DAY and sending nasty glares. GOD FORBID IF DESIREE HIDES BEHING SOMEONE WHO ISN'T HIM OR ANOTHER AWOL MEMBER, because Marcos will look at the hero like: "Why'd she go over to YOU? I'm right here-"

I GARUNTEE YOU THAT WHEN LONAN WAS CRUSHING ON THIAGO and trying to get him alone, talking about him a little too often, and just admiring him that Marcos IMMEDIATELY HAD BEEF BECAUSE LONAN CAN ONLY HAVE O N E CAT THEMED LATINO FRIEND WITH AN EVIL OLDER BROTHER AND MARCOS ALREADY CALLED DIBS. So Marcos would purposely ignore Thiago and was genuinely a jerk so Lonan had to grab Marcos and be all: "Dude—I don't like him like that. I'm friends with you, BUT I AM GAY FOR HIM AND YOU'RE KINDA DOIN' ME DIRTY." and Marcos is all: "¡NO MANCHES! Lonito, that's so cool, man! I'm so happy for you. Hey, if anyone gives you shit? Let me know. I'll gut 'em for you-" and now Marcos is chill with Thiago.

BUT YEAH, IF AWOL IS ON A MISSION AND MARCOS HAD TO GO BACK TO THE X-MEN SO THEY NEEDED A NEW TANK/BRUISER? They will go back to the Wayfarer and Marcos is standing in front of it with a "Welcome Home, CHEATERS" banner in front of it.

So Marcos's official timeline is that he started as Victor's sidekick, "Snarl", after Victkr killed María and Iker left. Then Logan talked some sense into him and offered him a place at Xavier's. The X-Men really TRIED to integrate him onto the team but Marcos absolutely refused to listen to orders so they put him on AWOL. He still loves the X-Men and AWOL is his home now....BUT MARCOS WILL STILL COME BACK TO XAVIER'S TO VISIT BUT HIS VISITS ARE LIKE 15 MINUTES LONG BECAUSE THE X-MEN ARE SO MESSY AND HE'S NOT STAYING AROUND FOR THAT.

Like he doesn't make a big deal over it—he'll be sitting next to Laura or Jubilee as he sharpens his claws and he's just laughing at them but because he has REALLY good senses? Emma will walk past him and Marcos will SMELL Scott on her and he just looks back at Laura and Jubilee like: "Ni modo—well, it was nice visiting you dorks but—ah—I think Lonan is calling me."

And Jubilee is all: "But...you just got here?" And Marcos says: "Hero work, Chica. You know how it is." But in reality—Marcos steps out of that manor calling Tommy like: "Ese, send a Quinjet here AHORITA—I do NOT want to be here anymore." Or sometimes Marcos comes back to visit with the X-Men AND MAYBE TWO TEAM MEMEBERS AREN'T TALKING OR SOMEONE WENT EVIL AGAIN and he's gonna need someone to bring him up to speed. SOMETIMES HE BRINGS GABBY WITH HIM but you just KNOW that she wants to stay for the drama but he's all: "C'mon, I'l let you fly the Quinjet-" and that usually gets her to follow.

Like Marcos LOVES chisme—HE'S MEXICAN SO IT'S ENTERTAINING but he's known these guys sonce he was 8 years old and he is just TIRED of it at this point.

Marcos is also intelligent but not in the same articulate way that Iker and María are but he's still incredibly smart. He just talks like his dad a lot of the time and is a genuine bully at the same time and it's great. Because MARCOS IS RAISED WITH MARÍA'S DECOLONIAL FRAMEWORK AND HE USES IT ALL THE TIME. When he has go to Xavier's in person because his grades have been THAT bad? He'll be sitting in Hank's class, hearing him teach mutant biology and then he's all: "“Prof, deadass—why are we still using those dumbass labels? Omega,’ ‘Beta,’ ‘Gamma,’ whatever. All that hierarchy crap? Humans made it up. Government dudes. Mutant control freaks. People who don’t even got powers trying to rank us like we’re Pokémon types. It don’t even make sense, güey. You slap labels on people and suddenly some loser mutants think they’re god-tier because they got born lucky and others think they’re useless. Ain’t nobody useless. Everyone’s just got their own… ecological niche, y’know? Like wolves and rabbits. People act like the wolf is ‘stronger,’ but nah—they just got different jobs in the environment. A rabbit’s just as powerful if you stop tryna compare ‘em on wolf terms. Same applies to mutants."

And everyone just STARES AT MARCOS and Hank is GAWKING because this child submitted a 23 day LATE mid term with HORRENDOUS GRAMMAR AND SPELLING MISTAKES AND HE'S ACCURATELY REFRAMING HOW MUTANT KIND IS BEING STUDIED IN THIS 8:50 CLASSROOM. Also, SINISTER GENUINELY HAS BEEF WITH MARCOS BECAUSE IT WAS BAD ENOUGH THAT MARÍA NOT ONLY OUTDID HIM IN HIS FIELD BY BEING AN ACTUAL SCIENTIST: MARCOS CAN ALSO DO IT BECAUSE SHE RAISED HIM and Marcos isn't even the "Superior Son", IKER IS OBJECTIVELY THE MOST IMPRESSIVE *he also clowns on Sinister in his own way* BUT MARCOS ALSO ISN'T STUPID. Like AWOL is helping the X-Men and Marcos is standing in a cell with his teammates and Lonan is all: "So, uh...what's the vampire guy's deal?" And Marcos is all: "Oh, Sinny? The guy thinks he's a scientist but in reality, he's genuinely so ass at science that he needs an endless reserve of clones to Brute Force method his way instead of, you know, actually doing science."

And THE FUNNIEST THING is that Sinister can give his overcomplicated and scientific explanations and say things like: "Dear boy, I highly doubt you understand the complexities of accelerating the pseudo-homo superior genetics recombinant strands and distilling them into a centralized form-" and Marcos's teammates are lost and they look at Marcos and Marcos is all: "No, I completely understand what you're saying, and that's why I KNOW it's bullshit."

And there will even be times when he's back at SHIELD with other hero teams and they're all just identifying some mutant or whatever or maybe he and Thiago are discussing Inigo to figure out what the hell he did to himself and Marcos is all: "Dios mío, tu hermano is a genuine genetic instability waiting to go off. Biology is relational, not modular. You cannot drop traits into a body like it's a Microsoft update. His nervous system is loco because it cannot hold two incompatible epistemologies without it biting the curb. He ain't unstable because of the tiger genetics, he's unstable because his human brain can't stand on bussiness against tiger instincts."

And everyone else just looks at Marcos and Marcos is standing there and he's all: "...¿Qué?My MOM is a geneticist."

ok writing in character as atrox is so fun. not sure if ive got her exact speech patterns and mannerisms right yet, but im getting closer. its def helping me flesh her out more. i think they talk very little in the actual plot, because the plot doesnt demand it of them, but an rp blog is a perfect way to work on its voice. im trying to make her answers as cryptic as possible without being entirely incomprehensible. ill get better as i go on
