I started rewatching Attack on Titan and like, it’s wild to watch S1 when you have the context for the literal first 5 minutes of the whole show.
This is show that you need to go in without any spoilers because it so perfectly makes the audience feel just as confused and scared as the characters. We don’t know what the Colossal Titan is or where the Titans came from. But in rewatch, you know everything. AoT does such a phenomenal job drawing us into this new world by sticking us right into the center of the action. It’s peak.
Baby Armin, Mikasa, and Eren are so cute btw. I miss when they could just be kids and play together 🥺. I love tho how each character is very quickly established, especially Armin. He’s a dreamer, like Erwin, and there’s something so wonderful about how he talks about his dreams.
And it does make me sad knowing that the Colossal and Armored titans were actually just a baby Reiner and Bertolt. Reiner’s story is easily one of the most devastating to me and Bertolt is a tragedy.
The world of AoT is so harsh and cruel, but that’s why the connections between the characters are so important. In the midst of all the chaos, they have each other.
(And there’s an Erwin cameo! Poor guy was still going through it tho 😭)
Last week I finished season 2 with my friend... The scene where Hannes dies and Eren loses it got me bawling... Everyone fighting for their lives. Eren punching Dina's titan, the fucking soundtrack... My whole body feeling hot and shivering. It happens rarely for me but I wasn't thinking anything, I was just taking in the scene. While still being able to feel the distinct feeling of closure I wanted all along. I didn't ruin aot. I could never ruin it. It's like I said, I could only have ruined my first experience and for so long with how young I was. But aot can never be affected nor I unchanged. I felt the familiar overwhelming feeling that aot was home and could never be replaced.
I mean I still regret wasting years of my life being a stupid one dimensional fangirl only taking aot in its simplified fandom forms like these cringy aot fandoms completely ruining aot and its characters for many
I'm glad I was able to re-experience it for a second time like it was the first.
I’ll never get over how casually Reiner was like “oh eren btw I’m the armour titan and he’s the colossal titan wanna team up” I was sitting there like
Jean is such an underrated character and I hope season 2 gives people more appreciation for him. He's shown more growth than most imo.
The way they would have been such good PARENTSSSSSS 😭💔
Levi on top of the female titan like
Eren: “founder Ymir, lend me your power”
Ymir:
