what gets me about drew & atticus' first match is that it could have just been normal. esp since atticus literally said & did Fuck All online regarding the match (which is rare for him imo), but it makes sense because it was his first time in the uk. drew being the one to introduce the whole "we're perfect for each other" deathmatch princess thing adds another level to it all. and then coming to the ring dressed as a bride, already bleeding, black roses in hand... just wow.

and not to mention, the theatrics and storytelling of the roses in the match, as a sort of attempt at a peace offering, as well as just an offering of any sort (love, perhaps ? coming from the deathmatch princess) that drew offered, and atticus (of course) immediately got & played into. the bit with the roses— drew offering it to atti initially, and then atticus offering one to drew later. and then finishing the match with dropping the roses on the floor infront of a very defeated drew parker, who flips him off. and then atticus dropping a bundle of skewers on his exit, and drew doing the same with his roses.

something curious about that is the fact that atticus' memento, if you will, that he dropped, was a weapon of his. drew's wasnt. sure, he could have done that with like darts perhaps if they wanted that clear visual comparison of the two, i guess, but it's so much more poignant (IMO !) to have his equivalent of that be the roses. he went into that match with love, seeking love & connection. atticus went in violent & untrusting, as he is with nearly everything.

so all of that opens up a lot of doors to what the hell crazy shit they could do in their match on tuesday. i hope they get faggy & perverted with it.

(it'd be cool if atticus mirrored the sort of deathmatch princess angle that drew had going in, sort of like his thing w megan bayne, but i doubt hed do all that. a boy can dream though...)
