Luna travels (country of your choice) on assignment from the quibbler (part of the magic is journalism isn't dead). You could intersperse the action with blurbs from her writeups about local magical wildlife, customs, etc.
Harry went straight into the aurors after the war then quickly realised he wasn't cut out for it (too much trauma, ministry is corrupt, acab, all of the above) so he's slowly found his way to a career in the foundations of magic (wand making, magical theory, spell creation) and as part of this, he needs to experience how magic differs across cultures/geography. He goes to X Country and finds that Draco Malfoy is both his translator and surprisingly comfortable in beloved in X country in spite of the fact that harry knows him to be a xenophobic little shit. And then......love.
Lily gets a prestigious potions apprenticeship in another country. To her shock, James Potter is also an apprentice. Jily
Sirius a Magizoologist. Remus is a herbologist. They team up for a research project in the country of your choice. Wolfstar
After the death eater trials Harry goes to malfoy manor to return Draco’s wand but doesn’t find him there. All he finds is a clue to where Draco went. Harry then travels the world clue after clue searching for Draco. Draco knows Harry is following him and always leaves a clue with a gift. Until one day there is no clue because Draco is still there waiting for Harry.
The Marauders go on vacation to a magical resort. Jily and Wolfstar
After Andromeda and Ted elope, they flee to another country to escape the Black family
There’s a forest (in Japan) where Muggles vanish. Some say it’s haunted, others say it listens; the International Confederation of Magic says it’s magically inert. Really, it could be anything. So when a cluster of wandless magic spikes are detected in the forest, Harry and/or Hermione are sent to investigate. Only once they get there, they begin to lose track of why they came.
James is an archeologist studying ancient magical communities. Lily is a translator. Can reverse roles if you want. Jily
After the first war ends, Lucius Malfoy is not able to convince the ministry of his innocence. The family flees Britain
Dorcas and Marlene are professional quidditch players chosen to compete in the World Cup, taking place in the country of your choice. Dorlene
The map has no name for this desert. The locals won’t speak of it. Every night, its sand arranges itself into runes no one claims to have written and the wind itself is starting to whisper in Parseltongue. Lucky thing Draco’s learned to speak it.
With Harry on paternity leave, Hermione’s research trip is accompanied by a certain Mr. Malfoy instead.
The summer after 5th year, Harry goes with Luna on her expedition to Sweden to search for Crumple-Horned Snorkacks.
