Special ending : What if we survive?
A/N : I decided to split it into two parts because Tumblr wouldn't let me exceed the word limit. So, I could only go up to Ignihyde. Plus, I couldn't add tags because my device froze due to the excessive word count. It's a bit disappointing.
Warning : You must read the entire ending of my story first. If you don't read it, you won’t understand.

If you want me to tag you please tell me.
English is not my first language.
It twisted, warped like something unfinished.
Malleus stood before you, his expression unreadable.
" Where are we....? " Your voice came out shakier than you wanted.
His smile was slow, eerie in the shifting blackness. " We’re home. "
" You promised. " His voice dropped to a whisper, almost tender.
Wind howled. The sky cracked like glass.
Curled black horns. A flick of a dragon’s tail.
Panic clawed at your chest. You tried to wake up. You screamed, clawing at your own skin, trying to pull yourself back to reality.
" You can’t leave. " His voice was so soft, so loving, yet it sent ice through your veins.
" Let me go… " Tears burned your eyes.
He sighed, pressing his forehead against yours. " I knew you would try. "
Darkness swallowed you whole.
You gasped, bolting upright.
Your body was drenched in sweat, chest heaving. Your bed. Your room. The real world.
Your pulse pounded in your ears, drowning everything out except the sharp crash of breaking glass.
Your head whipped toward the sound.
His emerald eyes were wide, pupils blown in shock. His hands trembled, fingers still outstretched as though reaching for you plates and cups shattered at his feet.
His lips parted. " Sister…? "
The impact knocked the breath from your lungs as he clung to you, arms wrapped so tightly around your waist that it almost hurt. His body trembled violently, his breath coming in short gasps as though he couldn’t quite believe you were real.
" You’re awake… " His voice cracked, and you felt damp warmth soak into your shirt. " You’re really awake… "
Your fingers twitched hesitantly before settling against his back. You still felt disoriented, the remnants of that suffocating dream clinging to you.
But as you stared at the mess on the floor the shattered dishes, the scattered food it hit you.
When you brought him home, he had been so small. A child who could barely walk, barely speak.
You taught him how to eat, how to smile, how to read.
You had been the one to care for him, to hold his hand when he was scared, to brush his hair when he was sleepy.
" You were gone for so long... " he choked out. " I thought— I thought I lost you… "
His grip tightened. Desperate.
You swallowed thickly. " Malleus… "
" Please don’t leave me again.. " he whispered.
You exhaled slowly, fingers threading through his hair like you used to when he was younger.
" I’m here.. " you murmured. " I’m not going anywhere. "
A shuddering breath escaped him, and he clung to you like a lost child.
The door had been left unlocked careless. Unlike him.
You didn’t stop to question it. You bolted.
The wind bit into your skin, your breath coming in ragged gasps. Trees blurred past. The world outside felt strange, unfamiliar after so long.
" Running away from me? "
Lilia stood in the middle of the path, his long hair swaying in the wind. He wasn’t smiling anymore. His crimson eyes were eerily calm.
" You weren’t supposed to leave. " His voice was soft, almost disappointed.
Your body trembled. " Lilia, this isn’t— "
You barely had time to react instinct screamed louder than reason, and before you knew it, your hand had moved.
Lilia’s eyes widened. " Huh?! "
A sharp yelp left him before his legs buckled, and he collapsed onto the ground with a thud.
You watched as he twitched slightly, shifting as if trying to sit up. But before he could
A soft, rhythmic snoring filled the air.
Lilia Vanrouge had actually fallen asleep.
" Are you kidding me..? " you muttered, nudging him with your foot.
You sighed. " Unbelievable. "
Now what? Leave him here? Drag him back home?
With a groan, you crouched down, slipping your arms under him. He was lighter than expected, which made carrying him slightly less frustrating.
" You’re lucky I don’t just leave you here.. " you grumbled.
The only response was another quiet snore.
Silver began sleepwalking.
Some nights, you would wake to find him standing at the edge of your bed, his breathing heavy, his hands twitching as if reaching for something.
" Silver? " you whispered.
Then, one night, the inevitable happened.
You woke to a sharp pain in your ribs.
Gasping, you sat up only to see Silver kneeling beside you, his hands pressed against your shoulders, his fingers digging into your skin.
His whole body jolted, his breath catching in his throat. His hands immediately recoiled, as if burned.
His expression twisted in horror.
You coughed, wincing. " You…hurt me… "
Silver’s eyes widened. He stumbled back, staring at his own trembling hands.
" No... " he whispered. " I didn’t— I wouldn’t—! "
You reached for him, but he flinched away.
His breaths came faster, more ragged. " No…no, no, no— "
Disappearing into the darkness.
Your heart pounded. For a second, your body felt too heavy to move, weighed down by exhaustion and the lingering pain in your ribs.
But you couldn’t let him leave like this.
You forced yourself up and ran after him.
He was inside, hunched over, clutching his head. His whole body trembled.
" Silver. " you called softly.
He flinched. " Don’t. " His voice was hoarse. " Don’t come closer... "
You hesitated. " Silver, tell me what happened. "
He shook his head violently. " I— " His breath shuddered. " I don’t want to hurt you again. I— "
" You won’t. " You stepped forward despite his protests. " Please. Just tell me what you saw. "
Your chest tightened. " What dream, Silver? "
His fingers curled into fists. " Every night…I see you leaving. No matter what I do, you disappear. I reach out, and you slip through my fingers. I try to hold onto you, but you just…fade... "
" I can’t lose you, Y/n. I won’t. "
His hands clenched at his sides, as if trying to restrain himself.
You exhaled slowly, stepping closer until you were right in front of him. " Silver. "
He shivered but didn’t pull away this time.
" Tomorrow, I’m taking you to the doctor. "
" Silver. " Your hands found his, steady despite his trembling. " We’ll figure this out. You don’t have to be afraid anymore. "
His lips parted, but no words came out.
You pulled him into a hug.
For a moment, he tensed then, his arms wrapped around you tightly, as if afraid you would vanish if he let go.
" Will you stay? " he whispered.
He sighed, his body finally relaxing against yours.
For the first time in a long while, he slept.
The Next Day, silver sat stiffly in the doctor’s office, his fingers curled into his sleeves. You sat beside him, your hand resting reassuringly on his arm.
The doctor glanced over the notes, then adjusted his glasses.
" Sleep disorders can sometimes cause…unintended behaviors. " He folded his hands. " But additionally— "
He looked at Silver directly.
" Do you think it’s okay to hurt someone while you’re mentally unwell? "
Silver stiffened. " I— No. Never.... "
" Then let’s make sure it doesn’t happen again. " The doctor’s tone was calm, but firm. " Therapy will help. You can get better, Silver. "
You looked at him, waiting.
Silver hesitated then, finally, he nodded. " Alright… "
A small smile tugged at your lips. " See? You won’t have to go through this alone. "
Silver exhaled, reaching for your hand. His grip was warm. Grounding.
" As long as you stay with me. "
You squeezed his fingers gently. " Always. "
One night, you tried to run.
You waited until Sebek was asleep something nearly impossible, given his habits and slipped out of the house.
The cold air stung your skin, but you pushed forward, your heart pounding. Each step felt like freedom.
Sebek stood at the gate, panting. His hair was messier than usual, his expression wild with something you’d never seen before.
" WHY!? " His voice wavered, his hands shaking. " WHY ARE YOU LEAVING ME!? "
Your throat tightened. " Sebek, I— "
" YOU SAID YOU WOULDN’T! " His breathing was ragged, his green eyes gleaming in the moonlight. " YOU SAID YOU’D STAY WITH ME! "
The ground beneath your foot crumbled.
You didn’t even have time to scream.
For a moment, all you heard was wind rushing past your ears, your body weightless as you tumbled down the rocky slope.
A faint, distant voice calling your name.
When you opened your eyes, everything hurt.
A dull, throbbing ache in your ribs made it hard to breathe. Your limbs felt sluggish, your vision swimming.
Sebek was kneeling beside you, his hands hovering over your body as if afraid to touch you. His eyes were red, frantic, his whole body shaking.
" Sebek…? " Your voice came out weak, barely a whisper.
" WHY DID YOU DO THAT!? IF YOU HAD JUST STAYED INSIDE, THIS WOULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED! " His voice cracked mid-shout, raw with emotion.
Something inside you snapped.
" I DIDN’T WANT TO GET HURT EITHER! "
" I’M BORED TOO! " you yelled, your voice rising with every word.
" I’M BORED WITH YOU! I’M BORED WITH EVERYTHING! " Your chest heaved with each breath, the pain in your ribs sharpening, but you didn’t care. The words poured out, unfiltered, angry.
" I’M BORED WITH HAVING TO TAKE CARE OF YOU!!! "
Sebek’s mouth opened slightly, but no words came out.
You let out a shaky breath. Tears blurred your vision, slipping down your cheeks.
Sebek jolted as if struck. His own eyes widened.
" D—Don’t cry. " His voice was suddenly small.
You hiccupped, wiping at your face.
Sebek’s hands twitched, like he wanted to reach for you but didn’t know how.
" STOP CRYING, OR— OR I’LL CRY TOO! "
" THEN CRY! " you shot back.
Tears spilled down his cheeks, his whole body trembling.
He pressed his hands against his face, muffling a choked sob.
" I DIDN’T MEAN TO MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE THAT! " His voice cracked. " I JUST— I DIDN’T WANT TO BE ALONE! "
Sebek wiped at his tears aggressively, only for more to fall.
For the first time, you saw him vulnerable.
He wasn’t shouting anymore.
He was just a boy scared, lost, desperate.
The sight made your chest ache.
Slowly, despite the pain, you reached out. Your fingers brushed against his, and he latched onto your hand instantly, gripping it tight.
" I hate seeing you like this... " you muttered.
Sebek let out a watery laugh, his grip tightening. " I hate it too. "
A faint wail of sirens filled the distance.
Sebek’s body tensed, but he didn’t let go of your hand.
" The ambulance…? " you murmured.
" They’re taking you to the hospital. " Sebek’s voice was hoarse from crying.
You exhaled slowly. " Good. I don’t want to die because of you. "
Sebek let out a strangled noise partway between a sob and a laugh. " I— I won’t let you die! "
The medics arrived, checking your injuries.
" I’M GOING WITH THEM! " Sebek snapped, gripping your hand like a lifeline.
The nurse frowned. " You can see them once they’re settled— "
" NO! " Sebek’s voice cracked. " I’M NOT LEAVING THEM! "
It took three nurses to drag him out of the ambulance.
Even then, he shouted the whole way.
" Y/N! I’LL BE THERE SOON! DON’T YOU DARE DIE! DON’T YOU DARE—! "
Your ribs ached. Your head throbbed.
But somehow…you felt lighter.
How many days had passed? Two? Three? Five?
At some point, he stopped moving.
The couch became his home. He barely ate, barely slept. His tail curled around himself as if to fill the empty space you left behind. His ears twitched at the sound of footsteps outside, but none ever stopped at the door.
His chest ached, his mind raced with possibilities. Were you mad? Did you leave because of him? Did you did you hate him now?
He was so lost in thought that he almost didn’t hear it.
The soft click of a key turning in the lock.
His ears perked up instantly.
His body moved before his mind caught up, scrambling off the couch, his heart hammering in his chest.
Windblown, tired, but there.
For a split second, you just stood there, eyes locking with his.
You barely had time to react before he crashed into you, his arms wrapping around you in a desperate, crushing hug. His tail curled around your waist, ears twitching wildly.
" YOU’RE BACK! " His voice cracked. " YOU— YOU’RE REALLY BACK—! "
" Of course I’m back! " you laughed, gripping his shoulders. " I was looking for you for five days, you idiot! "
His grip tightened. His face buried into your neck. His whole body trembled.
" I thought— " His voice wavered. " I thought I lost you. "
Your smile faded. Slowly, you ran a hand through his messy hair, scratching lightly behind his ears.
" I was so worried about you. " You sighed. " You just…disappeared. I didn’t know if you were okay. I kept searching, but you— "
" I’m sorry. " His voice was barely above a whisper. " I— I shouldn’t have left. I shouldn’t have said those things. I just— "
You pulled back slightly.
He looked up at you, his pupils blown wide, his expression vulnerable in a way you had never seen before.
Tears clung to his lashes.
" I was scared. " he admitted. " Scared that—that you’d leave me. That you’d get tired of me. And then— then I came back, and you weren’t here, and I— " His voice cracked. " I thought I lost you. "
You wiped the tears from his face with your thumb.
" I could never leave you. "
A choked sob slipped past his lips.
He clung to you, his tail wrapping around your wrist. " Say it again. "
You smiled softly. " I could never leave you. "
His ears twitched. " One more time. "
" I’m not leaving you, Che’nya. "
He let out a shaky laugh, pressing his forehead against yours.
His arms wrapped around you even tighter, as if afraid you’d disappear again.
The exhaustion finally hit you, your body sagging against him.
" You’re tired. " He pulled back slightly, his expression shifting into something worried. " Did you eat? Sleep? Did you— "
" I should be asking you that. " You poked his forehead.
His tail flicked. " I…may have neglected those things. "
You sighed, grabbing his wrist. " Come on. Let’s eat something. "
He didn’t let go of your hand the entire time.
Even as you sat at the table, even as you forced him to drink some water, even as you both slowly regained some sense of normalcy his fingers never left yours.
And he wasn’t letting you go.
That night, you went to Neige’s room, only to find it empty.
The window was open. The bed untouched.
Panic surged through you. Your breath hitched as you rushed toward the window, looking out into the dark streets below. Nothing. The night air was sharp against your skin as you scrambled back into the hall.
You barely remembered throwing on your shoes before you bolted outside, the cold pavement biting at your bare feet. Your eyes darted wildly, searching, scanning where could he have gone?
Neige stood on the other side of the road, his face illuminated by the dim glow of a streetlamp. He was looking back at your house, his brows furrowed in hesitation. His hands clenched and unclenched at his sides, as if torn between running away and coming back.
Relief flooded your chest. There he is.
It was coming too fast. The engine roared against the quiet night, its headlights slicing through the darkness like twin blades.
And Neige he wasn’t paying attention.
Your body moved before your mind caught up.
You ran faster than you ever had before, the world blurring around you. Your heart pounded, breath burning in your lungs, legs aching with each desperate stride.
He turned. His eyes widened.
At the last second, you lunged
You crashed into him, sending both of you tumbling in opposite directions.
The truck’s horn blared. Tires screeched against asphalt.
The air cracked with the sharp whoosh of passing metal.
For a split second, the world was chaos.
Cold pavement pressed against your cheek. You blinked, disoriented, your pulse hammering in your ears. Your vision swam as you lifted your head slightly.
Neige was on the other side of the street, panting heavily, eyes blown wide in shock. His hands trembled as he pushed himself up, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
You opened your mouth to answer
but the moment you moved, pain shot through your skull.
You barely registered the rush of footsteps, the murmurs of concerned strangers gathering around. A distant voice maybe the truck driver was calling for help. But none of it mattered.
Because Neige was suddenly there, dropping to his knees beside you.
" No, no, no— " His hands hovered over you, hesitant, unsure whether to touch you, whether he’d hurt you more if he did.
" y/n, please— " His voice cracked. " Talk to me— look at me— "
Your eyelids fluttered. The pain was dulling into a strange, numbing haze.
" I’m…okay. " you mumbled.
Neige let out a sound a breathless, choked mixture of relief and panic. His fingers tangled into your shirt, clutching tightly as he hovered over you.
" You idiot.. " he whispered, voice shaking. " Why—why did you do that? Why didn’t you just let me get hit instead? "
Your lips curled into a weak smile. " Because…I couldn’t let you get hurt. "
Tears welled up in his eyes. His hands trembled against your skin.
" You’re so stupid... " he muttered, sniffing. " So unbelievably stupid. "
Then he laughed. A weak, breathless, tear-filled laugh.
" You scared me so much. "
Your own laugh bubbled up light, exhausted, barely there. But it was enough.
And then your vision faded.
Neige’s entire world came crashing down.
His breath hitched. His hands tightened around you.
" No— " His voice turned desperate. " No, no, no— y/n! wake up—! "
His cries rang through the street. His fingers gripped you tighter, shaking you, willing you to open your eyes.
" Please please, don’t do this— " His voice cracked. " I—I was going to spend more time with you, I promise—I won’t run away again—I won’t ever leave— "
Tears streamed down his face, his sobs breaking into incoherent pleas. His whole body shook as he pressed his forehead against your shoulder.
" I love you. " he whispered, his voice trembling. " I love you, so please—please don’t leave me— "
A hand clapped onto his shoulder.
" Dude.. " a stranger muttered. " They’re not dead. "
His breath hitched. He slowly lifted his head, blinking through his tears.
" They’re just unconscious, man. " The stranger gave him a light shove. " Calm down. "
Heat flooded his cheeks, embarrassment mixing with the remnants of his panic.
" O—Of course I knew that! " he stammered, his voice suddenly high-pitched. " I—I was just being dramatic—! "
The stranger raised an eyebrow. " Sure, buddy. "
Neige swallowed hard. He looked back at you, his ears burning.
You groaned softly, your fingers twitching slightly.
Neige practically lunged forward. " y/n—! "
You blinked blearily, your gaze slowly focusing on him.
" …Why are you crying? " you mumbled groggily.
Neige let out a weak, watery laugh.
" Because you’re an idiot.. " he sniffled, wiping at his face with his sleeve. " A reckless, stupid idiot who almost died. "
Neige’s eyes widened slightly.
" Don’t laugh! " he whined. " I was scared, you know! "
" I know, I know. " you chuckled, reaching up weakly to brush a hand against his cheek. " I’m sorry for scaring you. "
His lips trembled. His fingers clutched yours tightly.
" Just…stay with me, okay..? " he whispered. " Don’t do that again. Don’t make me think I lost you. "
Neige let out a shaky breath.
Then, without warning, he buried his face into your neck, wrapping his arms around you in a desperate, trembling embrace.
" You’re mine.. " he mumbled. " I won’t let you go. Ever. "
His grip was almost suffocating. Almost.
Because despite everything the fear, the panic, the near-death experience
And Neige was holding you like he’d never let you go.
A strange, suffocating heat surrounded you.
Your body felt heavy, your limbs unresponsive. A fog pressed against your mind, thick and unyielding.
When you opened your eyes, you were somewhere unfamiliar somewhere dark.
The air was thick with something acrid, something wrong.
A slow, creeping panic coiled in your chest as you stirred, shifting against the cramped space around you. Your fingers pressed against metal cold, rigid yet the heat around you grew unbearable.
A flicker of orange bloomed in the darkness, casting jagged shadows against the metal walls.
The realization slammed into you like a freight train.
A scream ripped from your throat as you scrambled against the confines of your prison, your nails scraping uselessly against the surface.
" HELP! SOMEBODY, HELP ME! "
The flames licked hungrily at the edges, smoke curling in thick, suffocating tendrils.
You coughed violently, your throat raw, your vision blurring. The air was running out.
You clawed at the door, at the walls, at anything
Terror surged through you, drowning out everything else. Your fists pounded against the metal as your screams turned hoarse.
" PLEASE! SOMEONE! I DON’T WANT TO DIE! "
The fire roared, greedily consuming every inch of space. Your skin prickled, heat pressing down on you like a vice. Your lungs burned.
His hands trembled at his sides. His breathing was uneven, ragged.
He had been the one who locked you inside.
At first, it had been…a test. A way to see if you truly needed him. If you would call for him. Beg for him.
Sweat dripped down his face. His heartbeat pounded against his ribs. His fingers clenched and unclenched as his mind spiraled.
He had planned to let you suffer just a little longer. Just until you were desperate enough to swear you’d never leave him.
You were coughing so much.
Your voice was growing weaker.
The flames were too close.
Something inside him snapped.
He lunged forward, hands fumbling against the latch. His fingers shook violently, slipping against the metal as he struggled to undo what he had done.
The lock jammed. His breath hitched. His entire body screamed with panic.
With a final, desperate shove, the door burst open.
A rush of thick, suffocating smoke billowed outward, forcing him to stumble back, coughing violently.
You collapsed into his arms.
Your body was burning hot, your clothes singed, your skin streaked with soot. You gasped for air, your whole body trembling as you clung to him.
The moment he felt you alive, breathing something inside him shattered.
" Oh, god— " His arms wrapped around you with crushing desperation. His fingers dug into your back, pressing you impossibly close. " I’m sorry—I’m so sorry—I shouldn’t have— "
He was shaking. His entire body was drenched in sweat, his heart hammering so violently it felt like it would burst.
" You scared me so much.. " he whispered, his voice hoarse and uneven. His grip tightened, his breaths ragged against your hair. " I thought—I thought I— "
You barely had the strength to respond. Your body felt like lead, exhaustion pressing down on you.
The way he trembled. The way he clung to you like you would disappear if he let go.
A weak, breathless chuckle.
He pulled back just enough to look at you, eyes wide, disbelieving.
" Why are you laughing?! " he demanded, voice breaking between relief and hysteria. " You were almost—you almost—! "
Your lips curled into a weak smile. " Because…you look ridiculous. "
His mouth opened then closed.
A furious blush exploded across his face.
" H—Hey! " he sputtered. " I just saved your life, and you’re making fun of me?! "
" Mhm. " you hummed tiredly, your head lolling against his chest.
He let out a strangled noise somewhere between frustration, exasperation, and overwhelming relief.
" Unbelievable.. " he muttered. " You’re absolutely unbelievable. "
But his arms never loosened.
If anything, they tightened.
He pressed his forehead against yours, his breath still uneven.
" You’re mine.. " he whispered, voice trembling. " I won’t let you go. Ever. "
The night was quiet. Too quiet.
An unsettling silence pressed down on you, making every footstep echo against the empty halls.
You had been looking for Ernesto for hours. Calling his name. Searching the twisting corridors that felt wrongly still, as if they were waiting watching.
Faint. Haunting. A slow, eerie melody drifting through the dimly lit hallway.
Your heart pounded as you followed the sound, every step careful, deliberate. The music led you to a room at the very end of the corridor. The door was slightly ajar, an invitation wrapped in something sinister.
Your fingers hovered over the handle. A deep breath then you pushed it open.
The sight before you made your stomach twist.
A stage. A grand red curtain framing it like the mouth of a beast, poised to swallow its audience. A single spotlight shone in the center, illuminating a figure seated perfectly still.
Carved meticulously into wood. Your features, painted in delicate strokes, frozen in a hollow, empty stare.
A sharp, cold dread crept up your spine.
" Ernesto—? " Your voice barely rose above a whisper.
A familiar laugh echoed from the shadows.
" You’re late. " a voice purred.
Your breath hitched as he stepped into the light.
His orange eyes gleamed, unreadable. A slow, almost pleased smile curled his lips.
" Ernesto.. " you breathed, stepping back, " what is this…? "
He tilted his head, tail flicking lazily behind him.
" A performance, of course. "
He reached out, and with a single tug
A sharp jolt of horror shot through you.
Your pulse pounded in your ears as you shook your head. " This…this isn’t funny. "
Ernesto merely hummed, stepping closer, his gaze locked onto yours.
" But it’s not supposed to be funny.. " he murmured. " It’s supposed to be real. "
Thin, unseen, but felt. Wrapping around your wrists. Curling up your arms.
Your breath hitched. You jerked away, but the invisible force tightened, pulling you forward.
You gasped, struggling against the unseen hold.
" You always said you understood me. "
The strings tightened. Your body lurched.
" Then you should understand this, too. "
They weren’t strong enough.
Your balance wavered, but you barely had a second to process it before your hand shot forward.
And grabbed Ernesto by the collar.
His eyes widened, pupils shrinking.
The next thing he knew, his feet left the ground.
" W—Wait—! " He gasped, small hands clawing at yours as you lifted him effortlessly.
His tail puffed out in alarm.
" P—put me down! " he spluttered, twisting in your grip.
Instead, you narrowed your eyes. " What the hell was that? "
" It was—it was just a little experiment! " Ernesto yelped, his small body squirming in your grasp.
You raised a brow. " A little experiment? "
His ears flattened. " …A very important experiment? "
You placed him on your lap before pulling down his pants and preparing to spank him.
The sound echoed through the living room as your hand met his small bottom, preparing to strike it again.
A long, stunned silence stretched between you.
" …Did you just spank me?! " he shrieked, voice betrayed.
His face burned bright red.
" THAT’S HUMILIATING! " Ernesto flailed, furious. " You—you—you can’t just—! "
" GHH—! " His whole body jerked.
His tail fluffed up even more.
You sighed, finally setting him down. He stumbled, rubbing his sore behind, glowering up at you.
" That was unnecessary! " he huffed, his voice trembling with indignation.
You crossed your arms. " And what you did wasn’t? "
He faltered. His tail lashed behind him in frustration, and he turned away, arms crossed over his chest.
" You don’t understand. " he grumbled.
You sighed. " Then explain it to me. "
Ernesto’s ears twitched, but he didn’t turn around. His small shoulders tensed.
Your arms wrapped around him from behind, pulling him into a soft embrace.
" You’re pouting. " Your voice was amused.
But his tail was wagging.
Tiny, barely noticeable. But definitely wagging.
" Oh? " You gently stroked his ears, feeling the way he trembled. " Are you sure? "
" L—let go! " He tried to push you away but weakly.
And when your arms stayed wrapped around him, warm and steady
Halloween was always Skully’s favorite day.
The house was decorated with eerie lights and grinning pumpkins. Candy bowls were overflowing, waiting for eager little hands. Costumes were perfectly prepared.
He was practically vibrating with excitement.
From the moment the sun set, he refused to leave your side, dragging you through the streets as he admired all the decorations, costumes, and masks. His hollow eyes sparkled as he took in the spooky sights, his laughter echoing through the crisp autumn air.
It should have been perfect.
Somewhere between the candy and the laughter, something snapped.
You weren’t sure what started it.
A careless remark? A joke taken too far?
One moment, he was clinging to you, smiling, laughing
His hands were around your throat.
At first, you thought he was just being playful.
The first blow landed on your cheek.
Your head snapped to the side. A sharp sting spread across your face.
Your skin split. Your breath hitched. Blood trickled down your chin, staining his small fists.
" S—Skully—! " You gasped, hands shooting up to push him away.
But his hollow gaze bore into yours. Unblinking. Unreadable.
Your vision blurred. Your chest burned.
Somewhere in the distance, you heard his breath hitch, like he had just realized what he was doing.
But you weren’t going to wait for him to snap out of it.
You pushed him back with all your strength.
He stumbled, but before he could react, your fist collided with his face.
His small frame hit the ground with a soft grunt.
But instead of crying out in pain
And his mouth latched onto your arm.
" ARGH—! " A sharp, burning pain shot through your skin as his teeth sank in.
Your instincts flared. Without thinking
Skully yanked away, his face twisted in shock.
Panting, you wiped your mouth with the back of your hand, glaring at him.
He clutched his leg, staring at you with wide, betrayed eyes.
For a moment, neither of you moved.
Both of you were bleeding. Bruised. Bite-marked.
" I give up... " he muttered.
You exhaled heavily, finally catching your breath. A slow grin crept onto your lips.
" I just defeated a nine-year-old!!! " you said smugly. " I should get a trophy! "
Skully scowled, rubbing his sore face. " Tch. You cheated. "
" Oh? " You raised a brow. " Because I fought back? "
He huffed, crossing his arms. " That’s not fair. You weren’t supposed to win. "
You snorted. " Yeah? Well, life isn’t fair, kid. "
For a second, you thought he might try to attack again.
His small fingers curled around your sleeve.
" Let’s go trick or treating. " His voice was quiet.
He tugged at your sleeve. " Come on. "
You glanced down at your torn costume. At his bloodied face. At the bruises forming on both of you.
We look like we just crawled out of a horror movie.
You sighed, shaking your head.
Skully beamed, grabbing your hand.
The two of you walked down the street, battered and beaten, but side by side.
When you arrived at the next house, a woman at the door gasped.
" Oh my what amazing costumes! " she gushed. " They look so real! "
You forced a smile. " Uh…yeah. Very realistic. "
Skully smirked up at you.
The woman handed you candy, still marveling at the “ special effects. ”
As you walked away, you nudged Skully’s side.
" You got lucky. " you muttered.
He grinned. " You got lucky I didn’t bite your face instead. "
You rolled your eyes, popping a candy into your mouth.
Halloween was definitely Skully’s favorite day.
Wait.....what if it's the ending where they adopt all the kids?
Yes, let's do it that way.
You should have run the other way when Crowley, with his usual infuriating grin, dumped twenty seven children on you and declared, “ You’ll take good care of them, won’t you? ” before disappearing into the night.
You didn’t even get a choice.
Now, here you were, standing in the middle of what used to be your peaceful home now an absolute war zone.
8:00 AM – The Morning Struggle
The kitchen was a disaster. There were children everywhere literally everywhere. Some sat at the table, others on the counters, a few on the floor. You spotted Che’nya hanging from the ceiling somehow, laughing as Rollo angrily threw a pillow at him.
“ Get down from there, you feline menace! ” Rollo snapped, his face red with frustration.
“ Make me, Little Bishop~ ” Che’nya grinned, swaying.
Before Rollo could respond, Ace and Deuce burst in, both fighting over a piece of toast.
“ I got it first, idiot! ” Ace shouted.
“ Liar! You stole it from my plate! ” Deuce growled, yanking the toast so hard that it flung across the room
And right into Vil’s face.
The entire kitchen froze.
Vil slowly peeled the buttered toast from his cheek, his gaze filled with utter disgust.
“ …Who ” he said in a dangerously calm voice, “ dared to throw this this monstrosity at me! ”
Deuce pointed at Ace. Ace pointed at Deuce.
Meanwhile, you had your own crisis to deal with. Ernesto was tugging at your sleeve, his orange eyes wide.
“ Big Sister. ” he said sweetly. “ Can we have a puppet show after breakfast? ”
Before you could answer, Skully ( who, for some reason, had two knives in his hands ) grinned up at you. “ Or maybe we can play ‘Who Survives the Haunted House’? ”
“ Where did you get those?! ” you yelped, grabbing the knives.
Skully pouted. “ Aww, but it’s Halloween every day in my heart. ”
It was too early for this....
A loud bang echoed from the living room.
“ JAMIL, STOP CHASING KALIM AROUND WITH A BROOM! ”
“ I WOULDN’T HAVE TO IF HE DIDN’T TRY TO RIDE IT LIKE A MAGIC CARPET INDOORS! ”
Why was this your life now?
12:30 PM – The Outdoor Disaster
After managing to somewhat restore order in the house, you decided to take the kids outside to burn off their endless energy.
The moment you stepped outside, everything fell apart.
“ Ruggie, stop stealing everyone’s snacks! ”
“ It’s not my fault they weren’t watching them closely, Shishishi~ ”
“ Leona, get off that tree and stop napping! ”
“ Jade! Stop encouraging Floyd to throw people into the lake! ”
“ But it’s so fun, Shrimpy~! ” Floyd whined, lifting Ace over his shoulder.
“ PUT ME DOWN, YOU FREAKING EEL—!! ”
Ace landed in the water, sputtering and cursing, while Deuce immediately dived in after him like a concerned parent.
Riddle, who had been trying to read in peace, slammed his book shut with a vein bulging on his forehead.
“ That’s it. I’m declaring a rule— ”
Before he could even finish, Floyd had already grabbed Cater next.
“ C’mon, Goldfishie, let’s go swimming~ ”
“ W—Wait, wait, let’s talk about this—!! ”
1:30 PM – The Great Divide Eventually, the kids split into two groups :
The ‘Sports Team’ – Jack, Sebek, Silver, Jamil, and Epel were in this group, dragging you into an intense game of dodgeball.
The ‘Lazy Rebels’ – Leona, Azul, Idia, and Malleus, who flat-out refused to participate.
Jack cracked his knuckles. “ I won’t hold back. ”
Jamil smirked. “ Good. I want a challenge. ”
Sebek, yelling at full volume : “ I SHALL PROTECT WAKA SAMA’S HONOR!! ”
You barely had time to react before a ball came flying straight at your face.
Silver, who had thrown the ball, blinked. “ …I thought you’d dodge. ”
Leona yawned, resting under a tree. “ They’re idiots. ”
Azul, sipping tea, hummed. “ Indeed. ”
Idia, hiding under an umbrella, muttered, “ Why are we even outside? This is a nightmare! ”
Malleus, staring at you from across the field, sighed. “ Child of Man…do you require my assistance? ”
After dragging everyone back inside, you foolishly thought making dinner together would be a good bonding activity.
Trey tried his best to keep things under control, but
Jamil and Azul got into a power struggle over who should be head chef.
Kalim threw too much sugar into the pot because “ sweet things make everything better! ”
Floyd started flinging flour everywhere, cackling as Jade politely wiped his hands and said, “ This is why we don’t invite you into the kitchen, dear brother. ”
Epel and Rook had a knife duel over who could chop vegetables faster.
Vil was horrified at the “ barbaric ” cooking methods being used.
Somehow, after three hours of pure chaos, a meal was actually made.
7:00 PM – The Bathing Disaster
Getting twenty-seven kids clean was an impossible task.
“ I’M NOT GOING IN THE BATH, HUMAN! ” Sebek bellowed, clinging to the doorframe.
“ Sebek, get in the tub before I dunk you in myself. ”
Meanwhile, Floyd, Epel, and Ace were having a water fight, turning the entire bathroom into a flood zone.
vil, who had just finished drying his hair, turned and immediately had a full bucket of water dumped on him.
Ace, holding the bucket, froze.
“ I’M GOING TO KILL YOU! ”
9:00 PM – Bedtime Battles
It took forever to get them all in bed.
Malleus, for some reason, wanted to sleep in a coffin.
Leona refused to get off the couch.
Ruggie tried stealing pillows from everyone.
Ortho tucked Idia in while whispering, “ Big Brother, don’t stay up gaming all night. ”
And thanks to Trey for helping you as well, successfully getting everyone to bed.
Finally, after an eternity, they were all asleep.
You collapsed onto your bed
You had survived another day.
But could you survive tomorrow?
