The main difference between Fushiguro's shikigami vs the shadow creatures he makes in Monster Hunter (MH) is their behaviour.
For context MH!Fushiguro can create animals from his shadow with magic rather than cursed energy. There's a whole magic system in the works too.
Now onto the yapping. (It's a long post so I'll cut it here)
Invisible String by itwasglorius & britishteacup Rating: E Language: English Status: Complete Summary: At ten she first enters his life. At eighteen he falls in love with her. At twenty-six he loses her.
Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton meet at eight and ten. He dreams of making it big as a musician, she dreams of staying close to home. But somehow, something keeps them together, some invisible strings keeping their lives intertwined, even when they don’t want to be.
And isn't it just so pretty to think all along there was some invisible string tying you to me? *Note to Authors: Tama and Rhia, you both know how I feel about this fic. It is my favorite fic ever written and I love you both for creating and sharing this masterpiece.
Long ago, Noma used to have a human companion that travelled all over Palia with her. Despite being man and machine, they were inseparable: a duo that would spend a lifetime together.
But a lifetime for a galdur isn't the same for a human's, and Noma's companion soon was laid to rest in grave far from home. In their absence, Noma continues to wander.
Over a thousand years later, Noma meets a Majiri named Alsand'r.
And he reminds her of them.
Pokemon team for Kennedy Holt, Hayden Bradshaw & Mel James?
Kennedy’s Line-Up: Dewott (starter), Mantine, Vaporeon, Kingdra, Manaphy & Milotic
Kennedy would 100% be a water type trainer. Not only does it fit with her Manta Ray motif but she practically lives in the water as well.
Hayden’s Line-Up: Jolteon (starter), Heliolisk, Galvantula, Kommo-o, Emogla & Ampharos
She obviously has a lot of yellow based pokémon based on her ‘yellow ranger status’ but she also tends to lean more towards electric types. Every once in a while she runs across a dragon type that she really likes.
Mel’s Line-Up: Serperior (starter), Tropius, Scyther, Gardevoir, Nuzleaf & Victreebel
Like Hayden, Mel sticks to mainly green/grass pokémon but she loves her Gardevoir because it reminds her of her new ‘abilities’ given to her when she became a ranger.
Send me an OC & I’ll give you their Pokémon team!
Begin Again
"I'll give you mercy and free you from this horrible nightmare." He moved to shift in his wheelchair, looking as if Raiden was about see him stand to his feet. "You'll die and awake anew." Raiden looked down at the ground, thinking it over. They picked at the bandages from their blood transfusion. "You won't be sick anymore and you won't remember anything from the nightmare."
"I don't want to forget him... He's dead and I..." They were crying. "I don't know what to do. I miss him." Didn't they leave the School of Mensis long before the horrible events? Things that set him as a part of the Hunt.
"Don't worry, Raiden. Everything will be alright." There was something that Gehrman wasn't telling them, but they felt they could trust him. Wasn't he always so soothing to the new Hunter, the one who had wanted to be a scholar with blood free hands?
"Al-alright. Please, make it quick. I don't like all this pain." Gehrman nodded, raising from his chair. It was a blurr of motion and-

"Aaaaaaaaaah!!" Raiden sat up in their carriage seat. The horrible dream was gone from their mind, but their hand rested on their collar, driven by some unknown instinct, ask if their body remembered what brain didn't.
The School of Mensis. I wonder what it's going to be like. They had slipped away from responsibilities in far away lands and had come to study, to further themselves. A deep breath filled tight lungs, slowly making them relax in an exhale.
"Master Raiden, we'll be at the school in a moment." This was a friend of Raiden's family. "Are you alright?"
"I am quite alright. Thank you." They lowered their voice to a whisper. "Just a horrid dream."
The School itself was massive, the halls a network that reminded them of rivers running into the ocean. Students wanted about, discussing different studies and classes. Something felt odd.
"Are you lost, friend?" The voice sounded so familiar and they turned to see a man. He had to be in his 20's like them, with dark wet hair framing his face.
"Urh, no." Their brain was trying to figure out how to speak. "I'm Raiden Orihara."
"Orihara? Isn't that an old hunting family?" Raiden slowly nodded. "It must be nice to have no need for hunting knowledge."
No need? They didn't understand the confusion that was bubbling in them, but they smiled at him, watching as the sleepy man smiled back.
"It's wonderful to not need to hunt." Hands were offered to each other and handshakes accepted.
"I am Micolash. It is a pleasure to meet you." Soon, he gestured. "Would you like me to show you around? I should be able to help you find your room."
"Thank you, Micolash. I have the feeling that this will be the start of a great friendship."
