A hand reached out and curls over his own and clarity fill his bones, there's only the two of them, they're in bed. He tucks himself into the warm body and breaths in, "You're okay." - He is, John knows this, James is right. But the embrace grows tighter anyway, and John almost forgets himself.

None of it was real, he can smell gas, he knows those dreams aren't his phantoms, they're someone else's. James is right here, reminding him of that.
