Nightengale and the Black Bird{{Closed rp between Jocelyn and Emma}}
"M'lady please, allow us to return to the castle. The sun is lowering quickly and I fear we may be unable to find our way back if we say any longer,"Cristina begged Emma, her eyes darkened with worry. She scanned the woods around them once more, anxious as the shadows seemed to move. Emma, on the other hand, rolled her eyes and sparked a small flame from her finger tips. "I've got a lamp at my finger tips Cristina, there is no need to worry. We will make it back fine and fully guided with light. Relax and admire the calm of the trees,"She replied, turning her back to the other girl. She began to walk on through the dense forest when the pounding of horse feet stopped her. She turned sharply on her heel, conjuring a bright lamp into her hand to light the brush around her. She knew it was a guard from her kingdom, coming to reprimand her for wandering out so late. She waited only a few moments before the guard and his steed broke through the branches, bright blinding white against the dark black trees. The white wasn't pure as usual but rather streaked with a dark red.
"What brings you out here My lord?"She asked calmly despite the spike of adrenaline she felt at the sight of his dirtied armor.
"I come bearing terrible news Princess. The castle has been attacked and your parents have sent me to escort you to safety,"He announced, his voice shaky as a leaf. Emma stared at him for a moment, not quite comperhending what he was saying.
"What do you mean attacked? Are you telling me the commoners are rebelling?"
"No M'lady, I'm afraid not. There are strangers from a distant land attempting to seize the castle from your parents and-."
"And you wish me to go and hide?"Emma replied incredulously,"I refuse! Give me your steed, I must return to my parents at once,"She ordered. The rider watched her nervously and didn't make a move.
"I was told to take you to safety. I will not give you my steed. Please, come with me. Returning would be extremely unsafe,"He pleaded, the urgency clear in his voice. Emma contemplated fighting with him but knew it would take far too long to convince him to give the mare over. Instead, with a an angry huff, she lifted her skirts to her ankle and took off through the forest. Knowing the rider would try to follow, she threw a quick flame at a tree, knocking it down to block his path. She sped up, determined to make it back to her parents in time to help with the fight.
