Not that you probably want to pick up the ticks, but if you drop them in rubbing alcohol, they'll die! We do it at the barn with the horses all the time. I use Equispot for my horse; I think they have some for dogs and cats, too!

How did I get into Dragon Age?
veliseraptor. Actually, it was very sweet. We here hanging out with suziedowninthequiet about a year and a couple months ago and they were talking Dragon Age. I think she must have noticed that I was wishing I knew what they were talking about because just that night, she started me on it.

What are my feelings on the Circle?
I suppose I’m closest to the Aequitarians. The Circles as they stand are hotbeds for abuse and obviously need to be deeply reformed. I don’t, however, believe they should be abolished because it does seem like it’s safest to have some sort of centralized system of education for the mages.
There’s an issue in Dragon Age and it’s that while in some cases, the mages are clearly a metaphor for horrifically oppressed peoples, the aesop is somewhat broken by the prevalence of very violent mages and even possessions. Magic does seem to be inherently dangerous to the one who possesses it and, in extension, to the ones around them.
In an ideal situation, every settlement should have a place where mages can learn from other mages how to control their magic and guard themselves from demons, but that ideal situation doesn’t mean that there should be no Circle at all. Rather the Circle should be much more independent and act more as universities. I wouldn’t suggest doing away with all Chantry involvement, though, because of the simple fact that it seems as though the majority of (Southern) mages want some sort of Circle and want it to be somehow akin to what exists now.
Templars, on the other hand, and their involvement, needs to be restricted.
