Tutorial: Playing Audio Commentaries in VLC Media Player

Adapted from VLC HowTo/Play an external audio track for a video.

This step-by-step tutorial will teach you how to simultaneously play a standalone audio track and a standalone video file in VLC media player.

In VLC media player, go to Media -> Open Multiple Files...

In the Open Media window, click Add...

In the Select one or multiple files window, select the desired AUDIO file. Click Open.

In the Open Media window, tick Show more options, then tick Play another media synchronously. Click Browse...

In the second Open Media window, click Add...

In the Select one or multiple files window, select the desired VIDEO file which will be played on top of the AUDIO previously selected. Click Open.

In the second Open Media window, click Select. The second Open Media window will close.

In the first Open Media window, click Play.

The commentary will play over the video track. If the file contains multiple commentaries (like Mizumono’s), then you can toggle between audios by selecting Audio -> Audio Track

If this does not work, try loading the video first and the audio second. Feel free to send an ask if you have any questions!

There’s a lot to love in the Hannibal audio commentaries, but I think my favorite thing ever will always be when Bryan Fuller tells Gillian Anderson about dirty Hannigram and general Hannibal fanart and basically encourages her to check it out, and she seems pretty receptive and into it but is then like, What if someone, like, confiscates my computer and sees my internet history (we’ve all been there Gillian) and Bryan responds simply with 

“Just say it’s for work.”

DW audio commentaries

Do someone know where I can find a download link for all the audio commentaries for the Tennant Era? 

I know there are sometimes two official commentaries for one episode: one for the DVD and one for some BBC podcast. I'm interested in both really. (I already have the ones available on david-tennant.com).

On the Doctor Who DVDs...

… there are these audio commentaries. Never listened to them, I just watched the episodes. Is it worth listening to them, you know, I struggle and don’t know: audio commentaries or season 5?
