Lemme tell you about the production itself.

Kandaken tells the story of a species called Wokis - wonderful creatures who are sworn to protect the forest and all creatures who live in it, fighting against countless enemies to do so. The story follows one Woki in particular, Bluetail.

Bluetail, after his father’s death, attempts to carry on his legacy as a fighter by sneaking into an army camp. In doing so, he befriends two other Wokis, Flame and Melody, and the three embark on new adventures; trying to survive a magical, chaotic, and apocalyptic world!

Sound entertaining? Some big league indie companies think so, too! Kandaken has caught the attention of a potential partner that would bolster its views and production budget. This is huge for everyone involved in the Kandaken project.

There’s just one caveat. They need to prove that they’ll have enough engagement from viewers, so they need to expand their viewership- and fast.

Its me again

What software should I get?

Thank you for asking! I personally use and highly recommend Audacity, for a number of reasons.

1. It’s free! Some plugins cost money, but not any of the essential ones you’ll need for voice acting.

2. It’s very beginner and user friendly. Even though the format may seem daunting at first, it really is easy to learn how to navigate and to get the hang of.

3. It has VERY useful features like noise gate (removes audio outside of your voice), noise reduction (can eliminate or reduce background noise), click removal (gets rid of those yucky mouth sounds your mic is gonna pick up), and de-esser (reduces the harshness of the “s” sound in audio), among other things!

If you would like, I’ll be more than happy to post a tutorial on how to navigate Audacity, how to use its tools, and the techniques I use to get clean, professional quality audio. :)

Studer B67 Tapemachine

Last month I worked on a couple of these fantastic tape machines. I performed routine maintenance to make sure the machines were in good working order.  Cleaned and checked the heads to make sure they were playing and recording correctly. Made sure that the motors, guide rollers, pinch roller and tension arms were spinning and behaving correctly. All functions working!
