Video Editing Project: Advanced audio Waveform

Hello there, anon! Admin G here.

Actually, those "sound waves" are referred to as "Audio Waveform" and "Audio Spectrum" effects on AfterEffects. You can add it to a solid layer and then associate the effect with an underlying music file in the video project.

I am not aware yet of any other video tool capable of making those, but at least it's already included in AfterEffects out of the box. You don't need to buy anything else.

Hello there! This is Admin X! It took us a while to crack down on this, but we've got the answer for you!

- Go to File-->New Composition and set it to whatever settings you like.

- Import the music you want to make the audio spectrum from and drag it into the composition. Don't forget it has to be .wav or a 320kps .mp3 file or else it won't export correctly.

- Go to File--> New Layer and add the Audio Spectrum effect on it (found under the effects menu or in the Effects+Presets right sidebar)

- Alright, here's where the circle-making magic begins! On the top bar, look for the Ellipse tool (click and hold the Rectangle Tool to find the Ellipse Tool if you can't see it) and use it to draw a circle on the layer that you have placed the audio spectrum effect. Use shift+control to make it a perfect circle!

- This makes a mask/path on the audio spectrum layer. On the left-hand bar, expand the Audio Spectrum menu and under the Audio Layer, select the audio file you just imported.

- Finally, under the Path submenu still in the left, select the circular mask (Normally it's Mask 1 or Path 1 under the drop down menu). Bam, there's your audio spectrum circle!

And there you have it! If you mess around with some more of the effects you'll be able to change the color/size/etc to be more for your liking. Here's a screenshot with what the result after fiddling with some of the parameters!
