I wish to make the audiobook for The Guardian of the Lost and Forgotten. Bog's story.

And I want it to be collaborative!

First things first- requirements.

You need to have read the story. It's accessible on here (in my top posts) and on Ao3 (author- Damian_Dreamcatcher, title is The Guardian of the Lost and Forgotten)

I'm planning on using discord (idk what I'm doing on discord, so bear with me please) for communicating between everyone, doing auditions for the voices, etc.

I need to know you/trust you. Apologies to strangers and those I don't interact with often. But a lot of my friends are minors and if a stranger happens to be a predator or scanner, etc, I can't have you part of this project.

You gotta be fine with doing this for free. I don't have money to pay you for voice acting, editing the audio, etc etc.

Those should be all the requirements ^^

Now. Characters to voice act! (Once I get requests for the voices of characters, I'll tag the person taking that character)

Bog (thoughts and voice)-

Narrator (most of the story)- @unknownentityoutsideyourwindow

Marigold (just a couple lines)- @darklightthedragon

Moss (a few lines, more than marigold)- @luna-is-depressed

Unnamed Featherscale (one line)- @leafwing-life

I don't recall if Fen has any lines in the story, so lmk if you notice she does and if you wanna voice her lines-

Voice Audio (likely needing a few since the story is long and there'll be a bunch of people needing to speak- @pudgeybear

Visual (background pictures for the video, I'm not putting anyone's faces in this video)(also likely needing a few)- @marbled-pulse

Background audio (a lot of editors o_o) like background noises. Swamp noises, sounds of fighting, etc etc.- @pudgeybear

To help keep chaos and confusion at a minimum, if you can do multiple of these, please do that. I'd really appreciate it :>

Also, this project has no deadline. No deadline to get all the participants, no deadline to finish, etc etc. I don't want people to be more stressed than they already are over a project that should be stress free.

Also, if the video looks like/sounds like shit- I'm not gonna blame anyone! Hell, if I didn't think to get others involved, I would've just. Read the story and posted the video unedited. It could be shittier. So again, don't get stressed friends :>

NEW YORK  | Reese Witherspoon launching audiobook project

NEW YORK  — Reese Witherspoon is launching another literary project.

The Oscar-winning actress is collaborating with the audio producer-distributor Audible on audio editions of works highlighted in her Hello Sunshine book club. Witherspoon has recommended Curtis Sittenfeld’s story collection “You Think It, I’ll Say It” and other works by women. The project with Audible, owned by Amazon.com, will also include original audio productions.

In a statement Tuesday, Witherspoon said she wanted to “expand our book club experience” and also looked forward to working with women narrators. The actress narrated the audio book for one of the most talked-about novels in recent years, Harper Lee’s “Go Set a Watchman.”

Listening to your audiobook, and it's great but just wondering why you pronounce Iason's name wrong?

The short answer? I’m old as balls and I had to go on family members for reference. 

Long answer? I got into Ai no Kusabi because I was browsing mediaminer back in like 2003 (yeah I know, I’m fucking old) for yaoi fics to read and came across Taming Riki. I read it, fell in love and then tried to get my hands on the anime it was derived from. That turned out to be rather difficult, given the internet back then was shit, and I had dial up AND limited access to said dial up (I got a few hours each night only). So the only thing I had to go on was the name spelling itself. I asked family members how the name was pronounced because I remember having never seen it before and my grandfather said he once knew a fellow with that name, and he pronounced it EYE-son. I just assumed the “a” was silent or sort of mixed with the long “I” at the beginning, and so that’s how I pronounced it from then on.

Turns out it’s not an incorrect pronunciation of the name, it’s just an alternate one (thank you internet of today). By the time I learned this, heard how they pronounce the name in the anime, I had been using my pronunciation for over a year and a half, not just with myself but with everyone I knew as well who was into anime and manga. It was already in my head that way and I just figured that was a Japanese way of pronouncing the same name, which in a way it is, since Iason is the Ancient Greek form of Jason. It’s all a bit jumbly, and I honestly considered changing the pronunciation when I started doing the project, but it felt so weird and pretentious, like I was one of those news ladies in the states and I only have an accent when pronouncing certain words to try and sound cultured or some shit, which grates on me, and so I ultimately decided against it.
